What you need to do is click on the search area and type in E85. Lots of info on this site.

It all depends on wether you wanna run straight E85 or a 50/50 mix. With both you must be tuned for it. With straight E85, you will need 80# injectors and it will allow you to pulley down a bit further. My tuner recommended going with a 2.6 just to be safe. With a 50/50 mix, you can run 60# injectors and no lower then a 2.8. It also helps to have as many cooling mods as you can.

You didn't look very hard. I found your answer in about 2 minutes using E85 as a search. Just need to use advanced search to get rid of the garbage. Anyways, it might also help if you tell people what you have for a motor (LSJ/LNF/LE5/L61) and what your current mods are. Not trying to be a dick but this question gets asked daily and it gets old being a broken record.

Click forum then find the tuning section and the first thread that shows up is this.

you can tune a 2.7 with 60s on e but your idcs will be around 90-95% if correctly calibrated to the correct afr. If the wideband is calibrated correctly for e then youll want to see around 11.8-12.3 .

How easy is it to get e85 in ur area is the question. If u cant ge e85 alot then id think before doing an e85 tune. I talked to a guy in wisconsin who does tuneing he said with a 2.9 pulley 60's and all the mods i have i could see 290-300whp on the stock m62. look at ur horsepower goals what ur mods are and what ur doing in the future to see if its the right choice

also sreach Ebristol he has a thread on here and the redline fourm talking about e85 and him tuneing his car pages and pages of info on it

^^^^ E85 ISNT hard to tune ecspecially on the lsj.. Its more or less the persons wants or needs... What you stated about the e stations is true. If theres e every where. Do it... If not dont try it because youl hate the fact you have to use 1/4 a tank just to get it!!

My mods. 80's, 2.9, airbox mod, ZZP midlength header/dp, cutout. It made 292whp on E85. You need 80's and a tune.

Do you think stock endplate will be sufficient

OK FROM A TUNER SIDE ILL EXPAIN IT.. Sorry bout the caps!!!

iat2s are read and with the ecm it will either take timing out or boost if it gets high enough so if you have a 2.8 and its about 100 * outside and you do a full pull meaning from second to third without a dual pass you will still hit high iat2s .. So if you have a dual pass this will lower the temps by at leaast 15* f. When you add e, this doesnt get read by the map (iat2 ) sesnor. It is spit through the injectors and it cools the comustion charge down and creates a denser combustion (Safer) .. It helps create lower exaust gas temps whoch is the # 1 reason for blowing the lsj pistons.

So this is what i would do if you went e85.....
.5: check ic pump to see if it is in working condition if not replace
1: 2.6 zzp modualr system
2. full exaust 2.5 - 3 inch
3. dual pass and a h.e
4. 80s and harness
5. intake if you dont have one
6. port the m62 out
7. tune of course and what ever i missed ( Oh yeh and possibly a intake gasket lol)

Had that same issue on a friends SS TC. Drove decent until it started building boost. Its like: start flooring it, "here we go!", machine gun sound and no power, sadness lol

Get that coil fixed!

OP listen to the info in this thread. Ive been on E for 2 years and would never think of switching back

Well, it's off the road until it gets inspected, which should be in a couple months. It's no longer my daily driver so I am in no huge hurry to dump tons of money into it. But, I also like to take it out once a week or so so that it doesn't sit for very long. I know once I get all the little things fixed, it'll be awesome again.

You MIGHT be able to get away with a 2.7" with the winter E70 or spring/fall E78. But a 2.7" is too much for full E85.

Here is my car on a 2.9"/60s/E85/I/E ect...

Works for me!

I really like the 2.9"/60s/E85 setup. Its a good size pulley for almost any level of modified LSJ and with a good E85 tune, it will make a lot more power then most guys running smaller pulleys with gasoline.
