Final Gear Ratio

Is there a way to change just the final gear ratio in our car? I want to get either new gears or change the final drive ratio... Anybody know anything about it?

You have a 2.2, so you could change out to the vue's final drive which is like a 4.44

oh, then just bolt a LSJ tranny up to it. Our gears are rediculously long.

120mph in 3rd FTL in a supercharged car.

id just keep what you have. the f23 is very strong, plenty of j-body guys running the same f23 behind 400+hp without issues.

The F23 has a few choices.

The new XFE final drive is a 3.73 which to my knowledge is the longest of the manual cars...and whoever was blabbing up there about taking an auto final drive and using it on a manual......no.

The 2.4SS F23 has a shorter final drive.

The F35 has two choices to my understanding.

The new Turbo SS's 3.83 and the SS/SC's 4.05

The only reason the LSJ people have 'long gears' is the rev limit.

The top of 3rd in my LNF is like...105

The SS/SC final drive is actually 4.05. Just thought I'd point that out. Also, I don't know man, I don't know a lot of 4 bangers that can go 113 mph in 3rd gear. **** evos and stis shift into 4th at like 85. I can't wait though, my 3rd gear will end at ~130 mph 8200 rpm FTW!!!

actually the final drive in the SS/SC is 4.04.

Find you a good ring and pinion shop, they can custom fab you a final drive setup at just about any ratio you want.

Evo's have a 4.55 1-4th though.

It is what makes them pwn along with their AWD

I do 120mph in 3rd @ 7500rpms. Would be cool to get real close to topping 3rd out at the strip. Maybe with a tvs I'll be able to do that. But that'll have to wait for now.

I know its an old thread but I was wondering if anyone made gears for our auto cars. Or if anyone sells parts for the auto trans as well. I want to build mine but was wondering if I can get.some gears in mine. Btw what is the final drive ration for a 2.2 LAP auto?

Not many people would know your question which is why it's gone unanswered. Your best bet would be to contact ZZP since they sell the built auto trans.
