Head porting
Head porting
We are happy to announce our latest services: flow bench testing and head porting. Here's a couple pictures of a fully "Race Prepped" aluminum 4 cylibnder head:

The cnc mill should be operational next week.
Let us know if you are interested.
Thanks guys.

Thanks guys.
The midline of the port looks like it was moved off center, the individual sides of the port dont even come close to matching. I'd really like to hear some more about these particular ports and see a stock gasket against them.
Whats up CIA?
Whats up CIA?
Clear Image is the shiz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be contacting you guys in the summer months when its time for the rest of my exhaust!!!
I dont give a **** about what megapixel camera they have or the lighting, but you cant tell me its a poor picture making that top port(in particular but not exclusively) look poorly formed.
If its not an ECO port(I hope its not) why post it?
DAN!!! Whats going on.....chime in here, lets here whats up.
uhmmm....i was trying to defend them. way to make yourself look like a fool

Guys settle down.
The head that Dan posted is not a cobalt head. Its a head that is done in house, hand ported. The pics dont' give it justice, as Dan could have done better.
The head is a k20a2 honda head that will support over 300 whp on a 2.4l naturally aspirated motor.
This head curentlly flows the following numbers.
Lift"________Ported CFM___Stock CFM
.050"_______60.28________38
.100"_______104.12_______93
.150"_______148.6________138
.200"_______187.7________179
.250"_______224.15_______212
.300"_______256.3________245
.350"_______282__________265
.400"_______310__________282
.450"_______330__________296
.500"_______348__________305
.550"_______362__________312
.600"_______364__________318
Keep in mind that this is ported for a motor with verry big cams where it requires more cfm in higher lift.
Where a smaller cam would have a better flow head in the lower lift and less flow in the higher lift.
All the heads are done in house and flow tested on our flow bench before and after the porting.
Edit
NOTE: all cyl are flowed before and after, not just one as other companies do. This way you get a head that flows the same on all 4 cyl
Prices on the head porting will vary as more flow requires more work.

Wow. Hold the boat everyone. I haven't responded because we have been working on our boost tubing, cold air, 3" exhaust, 3" down-pipe with hi-flow converter and performance tune, along with flow-bench and dyno testing.
Let me clarify a few things:
As "ASP" stated, the pictures do not do justice to the actual work performed. I had taken several pictures with my camera and could not get anything decent. The flash was reflecting too much so I started angling the camera more and more in order to get a picture I could actually see. I guess I should have taken them in hi-resolution.
Next, this head is a Honda head, NOT a Cobalt head. When they were finished with the porting the other night I was astonished at the results and took picture right away. I knew I just had to start marketing the porting work these guys do because it is beautiful! I didn't post any prices or anything because this isn't the vendors section and I was just looking to make an announcement for the new service and let you all know what is available and up and coming.
Looking back I should not have mentioned the CNC Mill in the same thread. (Again, I was trying to make an announcement ONLY). The head porting is done by hand. The CNC mill will be used for various other in-house projects; flanges, covers, etc.
As for "sticking to what we know", OUCH! Come on everyone, when have I, or we, here at Clear Image Automotive ever posted crap or sub-standard work or parts for sale? NEVER! And I, We, never will. We know quality... Unfortunately I'm not as computer, camera, etc savvy as I would like to be.
A little on "ASP". "Advanced Street Performance", owned and operated by Stefan and Charles, are sharing our shop. They are a very welcome addition to Clear Image Automotive as they bring years of racing and fabrication experience with them. They build beautiful headers, exhaust and intake systems and have a Flow-bench, CNC mill and do head porting. Their finish work and quality is top notch and we are proud to have them here with us. Working in cooperation with them on several new projects is something we are very excited about.
Anyways, I have my 40th Birthday party to get to in 20 minutes. My wife has been working hard all day preparing everything and I'm a filthy mess from crawling around the shop today.
I gotta go!
