L61 & LSJ connecting rod lengths

ok so im hearing they are the same height, then i hear the LSJ is longer, then i hear the L61's rod is longer......

what im trying to do here, is use my L61 crank with LSJ rods with aftermarket pistons (would have to be custom aftermarket LSJ pistons, using the LSJ's wrist pin) yielding a high CR (between 11:1 and 12:1?) so i can rev to 7500 rpms (top end is already built, not worried about floating a valve or making power to that point, thats all covered guys.) on a N/A 2.2 engine with no problems, not worrying about snapping a rod or breaking a ring land.

a few questions come to mind:

using the LSJ rod (if it is in fact longer), would it have trouble with clearing the very bottom of the cylinder walls?

where can i find solid information about these rod lengths?

anyone ever done this before?

are there any LSJ aftermarket pistons that have a high CR for a N/A setup?

thanks.

solid info on this can be found on all data or GM's SI. which engine is the L61? i'll check it out tomorrow for you at work, PM me tomorrow and i'll get it thru email on my blackberry, then i'll check it.

you can get pistons for ANY engine. ANY size. ANY skirt type. you can have custom built ones if you want. u dont necessarily have to buy a set for any certain engine. the people at JE pistons are absolutely excellent about helping you.

as far as the clearance on the rods and the bottom of the cylinder walls, you might just have to get a set and set it in there, torque down the main and rod caps, and turn the rotating assembly by hand and watch. be sure to allow for a couple hundreths of play otherwise to ur hard work

The LSJ rod is longer. The L61 is a longer stroke with the same block.

If I were you I would go aftermarket rods, it will make your build much more simple. Google- ecotec build book, that should answer some questions.

Yep, these are the only ones that will work with a 2.2 crank and 2.0 rod. They have a different pin height.

if you go with the lsj rod you'll need an aftermarket piston to make the system work. you're better off going outside gm on this one.

awww shiittt

i guess i gotta go aftermarket then. i cant find any solid numbers about rod length. it seems like an unimportant variable on the ecotec....

not for the LSJ rod in an L61, does anyone either pay attention to what witt/I post, or even actually read the build book and not skim through it?

LSJ rods are the same length as 2.2L rods (center to center). The LSJ rod uses a 23mm wrist pin while the L61 rod uses I believe a 20mm wrist pin. The pin height it different on a 2.2L piston which is the reason the rods are same length with different strokes. I believe GM makes a forged piston for this setup

*EDIT* But you already knew that, because I posted in here without reading any post after the original
