lsj head on le5 bottom end

One of the guys here in town has a lsj head sitting around and has no use for it. What would be the pro's and con's of putting the lsj head on the le5 block? Would it even be worth it? Now just to let yall know I plan on putting my valvetrain(including +1mm oversized valves) I have here at home in it, along with zzp cams that I'll be ordering with income tax. So what are yalls opinions?

I have this set-up currently, mind you in a J-Body.

Problem here would be IMO what to do with the ECM, as the VVT system will not work in the LSJ head.

Other than that, no real benefits, it will bump your compression up to the 11:1 range, so keep that in mind as well.

so with higher compression, I could get more hp out of boost but its just that much harder to tune then.

hp tuners should be able to deactivate the vvt.

Why not keep LE5 head and utilize VVT?

just have your head P&P and you should be able to get more out of it than a lsj head. if you really want the compression have it milled. unless the lsj head is super cheap.

Not supposed to mill Ecotec heads.

Not supposed to polish intake ports, you actually lose CFM if you polish them.

The reason you polish the exhaust ports is so that carbon does not start to stick to the walls and build up.

You dont so much loose cfm from polishing, you loose turbulent flow, which makes the fuel not mix in with the air as well, and results in less power and a higher detonation risk.
