MAF over run/limit, C.O.P. ignition, few questions.

I am from the DSM world and not totally opposed to a blow through MAF and translator if need be. I have heard of some guys using like an LS2 MAF or something like that? I guess I am just curious how many of you guy have done enough research to see where the stock MAF runs out at. I don't want to have to clamp/disable it in HP Tuners unless there is an easy way around it and I don't want it to be like the missing piece of the puzzle and hold me back with my goals. I know a lot of the GM backed ECOtec race engines use like the Delphi 4 or FAST or some other standalones and convert to mechanical TBs. I don't want stand alone. I still want cruise control and all that good stuff. While I'm at it, do you think the ion sensing c.o.p. ignition is up to the task? Or is it worth it to spend the extra like $1,000 and do the MSD distributor, coil, and controller? I already have my mind set on a twin scroll turbo, custom made manifolds, two waste gates, the MSD launch boost control, the whole nine yards. Just getting the last few pieces of the puzzle wrapped up before I start draining my bank account.

stock maf should support at least 400whp worth of air. Mines just maxing out because of turbulence in my IC piping. but it just touches 11111 Hz @7000 rpm

The MAF the other guys are running is a 5 wire from a newer GM truck and vette. I'm using it on my turbo swap and it's almost maxxing out already, even at 20psi on a t3/t04e 50 trim.

We need hptuners to up the chart for us. I believe that is our only weakness in the tuning department. If you wanna make really good power, just ditch the stock pcm or run ve and no maf

SD mode in these cars does not work very well... everyone I know that tried it out, gave up. Unless hp tuners give's us a new OS like the LS1's we're stuck with the maf... but it can't be that horrible... Lingenfelter still uses a MAf on his 1000hp twin turbo Corvettes

I'm worried about having a MAS on my car that can actually flow 110 lbs/min or so...

And Lingenfelter is dead BTW.

Hmm...guess I'll give it a shot. I was considering a Granatelli LT1 MAS, but I can't find any supporting numbers.

just run low boost and tune it from there and find the limit.

Haha, there's no such thing as low boost on this turbo.

Place the stock MAF sensor into a larger diameter intake pipe. It will allow more air to pass by it at a lower frequency, raising the upper limit of the MAF.

FYI, the MAF itself will be reliable to 13k hz however the PCM will only allow calibrating to 11.1k hz.

Yeah my problems are from the stock fuel pump and my intercooler piping is all f'd up... comes out of the FMIC 2.5"-3" for about 12 inches for the MAF, then back to 2.5" It was all 2.5" but it was pegging the maf at @4500rpm, If I can get some damn free time I'll have a chance to make it all 3" and clear it up.
But yeah I'm hitting 67.63lb/min (in 2nd gear lol) and it would be fine if my base fuel pressure wasn't 78psi./

But how much power are you actually making? You can pm me if you dont want the world to know. I'm thinking about possibly running a granatelli LT1 MAS.

I can only guess at the moment, not dynoing til the 29th.
but on my old setup I was making 356/315 to the wheels with no timing and moving only 56.36lb/min, so I gotta be in the 400+whp range now. Hopefully get the new fuel pump in this week so I can make full pulls on the dyno.
