That's pretty damn sweet..I'm sure once I get a kit I'll be able to figure it out instead of attempting to visualize it.

Well... this is as good of a place as any.
There is a local discussion going on at the 306motorclub on W/M injection.... one guy made a statement that I think is a good idea for people to read.

Yes it is (a little more then 4% of fuel needs), and that is the point. Use the least amount which lowers intake temperatures, and still allows petro to be [by far] the biggest part of the combustion energy. Pertro generates much more energy.

It is also the amount sno performance suggests. I didn't pull it out of the air...

If you were running a LOT of boost and are really knock limited I'd possibly run twice that for octane benefits as Hambugler suggested, although I'd still tune for 12.5:1 off mix. Although even with a 10% mix you are only looking at a 2.5 point increase over premium. You'd be better off to go to Husky or Mohawk and put in 94. If you used both for octane/timing gains I'd see some worth. Especially if those timing gains where larger then a smaller mixture. A high boost system requiring a very large ignition retard could be such a situation.

The octane gains really aren't that huge. 24 points if you are a 100% mixture. 6 points at 25% mixture, 2.4% at 10% mixture, etc. The real gains are from lower intake temperatures when they were previously ridiculous and knock inducing.

I've tuned a couple cars with meth injection. A .5 mixture made way more power then the much higher mixtures. When both cars came to me, they were using close to a 2.5 (25%) mixture. They were slower then lower boost running all petro.

For install work I don't know who I'd get to do it in town. I've never seen a P+ install so I can't comment. I have seen a GSS install, being that they are the "meth dealer" in town you see a lot of their work. It doesn't pass SIR tech. re: fuel lines and fuel cells

Hamburglers install above should pass tech.
For the record the guy name Veris, is a well know local Honda tuner and Hamburgler is a guy runing a modified Snow kit on a turbo DelSol.

In addition to what was said there, it's important that people understand what W/M was designed for.
The point of W/M injection wasn't to increase your octane rating by significant amount or to supply a bunch more fuel, but rather to aid in the cooling of your intake charge, thus allowing more boost (resulting in a higher flow of air).
The water's purpose is to cool the charge... and as we all know, water has the best heat transfer rate.
This is also why running pure methanol isn't the greatest idea... use a mixture, and make sure it's best suited for your application.

If meth adds octane could one run meth to hit the 100 octane tune on the Stage 3 pcm? Seems like this would be a better option than running off to get race gas. According to the above post 50/50 would be 12 octane, I run 93 right now so that would put it at 105.

If so could one run this in conjunction with the 50 dry shot?

Using the Stage 3 PCM would this be a pretty safe setup?

Only problem is that the stage 3 ECM is locked and you def want to tune for meth.

If I was hitting about 105 octane with meth wouldn't the 100 octane tune in the PCM compensate for the change?

no.

meth is a fuel. adding fuel without a specific control, and no way to lean the car out for it. will result in a rich, angry car.

With meth though you are actually adding fuel to the intake track.

so...after i get my kit installed, it needs to be tuned before i add any meth?

until then i should only use water?

Yes, you can run nitrous with methanol. We've been working with shops and customers recently on this very subject. As we know more we will let you know.

Encase you haven't read our article on using water methanol injection with nitrous heres the link below. We've been working more with nitrous in the last 4 months. This article breaks down the essential benefits of using a water methanol injection system with nitrous and how it works together. Were working to release some more information as we have it. This will be posted on the website as soon as it's ready.
