Maybe would have gotten like 1-2k miles out of what was left with no WOT runs!
Wow. That sucks. A clutch like that shouldn't be doing what you said, I agree.

It was definitely the worst purchase I have made for what I paid. It was the only clutch out for our cars at the time when I got it figures that like 3 weeks later Centerforce came out with one and then like 2-3 months later the Exedy one came out... So now Im stuck paying another 1,300 for an Exedy Stage 3 clutch! woo hoo. But words from me are... DO NOT BUY SPEC CLUTCHES!

Everyone has had trouble with aftermarket clutch, not just spec, but also the FX series of clutches.

What outfit is machining your block for the Darton kit and fitting your pistons?
Do they have a Sunnen CV-616? (as recommended by Darton)
What bore size are you going to use? 86mm?
Good Luck on the build

True, JBPs' boring mill to do ECOTEC sleeves costs $24,000CDN. Be careful of shops claiming to be able to do everything. Better to head to a shop that specializes in ECOTECs.

Yes same here. they guaranteed their work on the block as well as re-balancing the crank with the rods and pistons also fully balanced!

No Im building my car for over 400whp right now! and just doing everything first because the rods are good for 600-700 whp but I just wanted to replace them while I had it all apart because the turbo should be on soon to make that power!

Kind of an unrelated question- What's the most hp you can get with the m62, whippie, m90, or new TVS's coming out. This would be with the set up you are doing- full port and polish, built top and bottom, etc. I eventually want to get around 450-500 hp with a supercharger.

Well just wanted to bring this thread back to life. Head is finally back from JBP and its insane! Motor will be done in 2-3 days from being built. Car will then be put back together and tuned and then will finally hit the road again.

Just letting whoever cares on here that my build is coming along great no extra surprises and that it will be done by the weekend! woot!

well it depends on how crazy the cam is, i wouldnt think you would need to as long as you have the same clearance as the old ones and hopefully you dont get any valve chatter. sounds like an awesome build.
