after some back and forth with ebay person with little english they refunded money on the radiator and told me to keep it... so i am going to make it fit. i broke out the 20 year old tiny arc welder
i modified the top brackets already... will try to take a look at the bottom brackets... the weather is really shitty right now
i set timing at 12 and it actually runs pretty good. stays at 180 even without the shroud. the shroud was so old and shitty it snapped when i was taking it out this time.
You could always drop the Tstat to 160 and bump the timing to 14-16 degrees that would give some extra free ponies. You might think about a flex fan, and some under drive pulleys. You could always run a set of vortec heads and a good cam. Chevy stuff is so cheap. I bet you could do that set up for 5-600, if you found a good set of used heads.

i'll stick with 180, timing is 12.
i'm just going to leave it alone, i have some heads and a cam that i could put in it that would bump it up at least 100hp but i dont want to just sell it with these good world products heads.
i've never done body work before, i have done some painting, but not a lot.
so i thought i'd give it a try on this bad boy.
not sure how it'll turn out but it seems fine so far.
Not bad, Its all in the feel. You can think it feels right and hit it with primer and its high. Ive done 3 full cars including a 67 Camaro. It is a learning process.

yah,
it feels ok to me, but the funny thing is with these bumper covers, it really isn't perfectly flat lol... so i don't' think it'll really look off.
i'm excited to see how it will turn out, the car is outisde so i can't really do anything right now cause its raining of course
i'm going to fix some of the other spots in the same fashion
Urathane is pretty easy to work with, although I would recommend doing it by hand vs with a DA or palm sander. Spot putty works well with any other little imperfections in it. What filler are you using?

i was doing it by hand for sure. a power sander would blow through this so fast
i should clarify, the actual bumper under the cover is fiberglass, but the cover is urethane, so the bondo is on the fiberglass part, not on top of urethane.
if it breaks apart and falls off i will get the bondo brand "bumper fix" stuff. i already had this bondo laying around
Yeah the bondo fiberglass kit is good. You can use it on showers as well
i have some bondo brand fiberglass repair, but the actual bumper is fine, its just the cover. i think this stuff will be fine, but if it doesn't work out... its not like its worse than it was lol
True. Did you add a little more hardener in it? Sometimes that works. The first thing I ever worked on was a Eurathane ground effect piece for my 90 GT fox body. I bet I spent 20 plus hours working on it and finally figuring out how to sand Its not easy. Thats why paint and body cost so much.

i dont think i'll be able to do anything with it today. its raining and my garage is full of **** still from home remodeling. and my dads garage has chevelle in it.
it wouldn't be a big deal to get chevelle rained on for a couple hours but whatever
I wish I had a bigger garage. I miss my old house set up. I had a two car garage, with a two car carport off the front. Now I can barely get two cars in our garage. My isn't dirty, its just your typical new house garage.
This is 1000 wet sanded and some rubbing compound. I'm kinda annoyed at this clear I think the can is bad... It says 15mins to dry and 1hr to handle. It was sitting in garage all night with heater on and it wasn't dried all the way at through. When I wet sanded and buffed it rubbed off some of the clear that wasn't completely dry. Last time I did this on trans am it dried really fast....
The can also spit out some crud a couple times
It looks fine from 6+ feet but close you can see where it burned through clear
I'm going to wait a while and sand the clear off and use a new can. It's ok for now.
I repainted and cleared the back and it looks pretty good now. I bought a new can of clear and it worked fine and dried fast.
The car had some wierd side mirror on it, I filled the holes and painted over it I will probably put the stock mirror on in the correct position at some point.
I fixed a spot on the front bumper and on the
back behind the window on passenger side.
Oh I also fixed a messed up spot on the headlight cover
I'm going to wait until tomorrow evening to wet sand and buff just to be safe on the clear
Looks good man. I hate trying to paint in the winter. It seems like things take 3x as long as they should to dry. I didn't get pics, but a house that I was roofing a guy had a super clean red 76 that he was in the process of rebuilding the motor.
