~New Project ~ Interior Pieces ~ 56K :( | !!!Finally Done!!! |

Finally decided to paint all my ugly silver dash pieces. I already have the door controls|w/e red. I'm wet sanding it for the first time to make it looks pretty close to factory paint job so wish me luck and I'll keep you posted and before/after, well only after you know what stock looks like.

All gutted.

Ready for sanding.

The materials

HAHA.....shards of mini sand.....who would have thought.

I haven't got to try the Back to Black yet, **** better work. As for the paint, best I've found in a can. And the doubled sided tape is what I'm going to use to stick the SS emblem back on, and I decided to take my front bowtie off and redo it.

I'm wet sanding the old stuff off because it makes the sandpaper last longer.

I just got all the stuff done and sanded down and I'll be ready for paint tomorrow. Also with the "SS" emblem, I just used a blow dryer and fishing string.

Got a few coats applied.

Finally finished.....

Re-painted bowtie, 2 years of sun whopped it's ass.

And before you ask yes I bought another AC module so if I sell the car I can swap it out so you can read it again, I only left the whole for the 3 small LEDs when you push the buttons.

And a teaser....I just clean the seats and conditioned them.

ENJOY!!!!!

Just started painting the pieces. I'm thinking 5 coats then maybe wet sand 1500 then a few more and wet sand 1500 then 2000, then start buffing. I will post up some more pics later.

WOW....wet sanding is a little harder than I thought, I painted my ECU cover a while back ago and thought I'd get some practice on that and damn it takes forever. Very time consuming. I wish I could have used a spray gun with some reducer so it would have went on a lot smoother.

Nice.

Though I wouldn't call our stock silver interior trim "ugly". I still have mine, and its still un-chipped and looks great IMO.

Well not really ugly, I just don't like it. To each his own. And I had a few spots where they were waring off, not to mention the tool pieces.

Yea there very very nice to have, they hug the hell out of you, in turns don't even move compared to the SS/LSJ seats or stock SS seats.
