1st Gen Projector Nighttime Picture Request..

Hey guys,

So I'm thinking about maybe picking up a set of 1st gen projectors to see if I like them on my car.. But I wanted to see a few night pics first.. Here's what I'm looking for.. 1st gen projectors.. A shot with lows and fogs both on, and one with the highs on.. If you can also specify what kind of bulb / HID temp you have, that'd be cool too..

Thanks!

It is generally good.

If you are lazy like me, you should get the second gens.

They are plug and play and the CCFL halo's are WAY brighter.

AND the light output with HIDs is :wow:

So the 1st gens aren't plug-n-play..? That sucks because I like those he best.. But honestly, I was probably just not even going to run the halo's or the little LED's.. lol. I was just going to use them for the projector beams..

Well that is as simple as pulling some plugs out of the back of the housing.

Or snipping a wire...but yeah, although easy, the first gens have to be wired , which AFASIK the 3rd gens are the same.

Those HID's or some type of nice Xenon standard bulb?

Could you please explain the wiring to me? How you have to wire them or whatever?

Pics look good.. Thanks for posting!

Anyone else?

Holy ****. lol. Honestly, I don't think I'd want the blue LED dots, and maybe not the halos.. But I don't know.. I figure that all you have to do is just split up the three wires from the factory socket, split the negative into two, and just run two to the high and two to the low.. The the corner bulb stays as-is..

Can anyone expand on this..?

Also, are those HID's or standard bulbs? That's a nice set-up..

1st Gen Chrome, 6000K HID lows, Silverstar Highs, PIAA 4300K halogen fogs. All white LEDs.

I actually don't have any with the highs on... hope these help.
The 1st gens arn't plug and play if you have hids, or want the halos/leds lit, but the lights are, with the standard halogen. And IMO, look the best.

So on the 1st gens, the high and low is plug-n-play, but you have to wire the halos and LED's separately? Do you just wire them to your marker lights like you would do for gauges?

There is a brown wire connected in the wiring harness, i tied my LEDs/Halos to it, so it comes on with the park lights; and of course, ground to ground.

But the highs and lows are directly plug n play? All you have to wire is the LED's/halo's to the corner wire and then ground it?

So you just plug your 9007 socket into a "splitter" type piece and it breaks the 9007 into two parts?

You just unplug your stock light and plug in the projectors and they will work, you only need to cut and solder if you want the leds and halos to work.

Exactly. The wiring on the casing has the splitter/seperator already wired, just plug it into your harness, and wa-la! High and low Halogen beams, the signal and sidemarker are direct plugs ins as well.
