Question 20000k H.I.D.

Ok, i was looking on ebay for some H.I.D. kits for my car. I didnt know they made a 20000k kit. i thought the highest they went was 12000k. Is this a real kit and do you think it would melt my aftermarket projectors and heard H.I.D. bulbs dont fit in the aftermarket headlgihts. Any input is appriciated. Here is the link for the H.I.D. Kit, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/20000...97288881QQrdZ1

Yeah. Im sure when "someone" made the solar system, the sun was only supposed to light one half of the planet at a time.

i would go with 6k at the highest (prefer something like 4300k myself)

the higher the k. , the less you will see on the road
and as the life of the bulb grows, so does the k.

HID info (best guide i read!)

8000k is the best way to go. I got mine for 215 shipped through Uneek, who is a supporting vendor here on the site

See i was debating through 8000k and 10000k but these ones just looked amazing. But i guess you would be blinding the hell out of everyone. But i didnt know they made them that bright, and my other question have you heard of the bulbs melting the after market projector/halos? or bulbs breaking because there too long for the slot of the projector. i just heard this so i dont know if its true or not.

they will be bright, but NOT bright for your purpose of seeing the road, just being bright by annoying other people on the road

this is a must read, will help anybody out with ?'s on HID

O i know, im over the 20000k. Im most likely gonna get 8000k or 10000k. Im just still deciding but i wanted to know if it would be a problem with the aftermarket projector/halo headlights? i heard it is and it isnt i just need to get a strait yes or no answer. But those 20000k would be bright.

20000K isn't going to be that bright, its color temp not wattage or power or anything like that. There are mor or less just as bright as any other HID out there, its still 35W bulb. 20,000K color temp would be very very purple and almost useless driving. Dont get it.

See but im going for looks too. I love the way the 12000k looks. I put a poll up so everyone can vote on what they think would be best. but i really wanna know if the bulbs will fit in the projectors cause i heard they break cause the housing of the projector is too small

I love the purple color. But honestly i expected them to be brighter (saunders1986). Maybe its cause its on camera and not in real life. cause my friend had some 8000k on his and they were bright.

Are you serious? 20000k is the color temperature. It has nothing to do with the bulb temp. 8000k and 20000k will both run at 35 Watts. Therefore, they actually run cooler than stock halogens. Although, you can now get 55W HID. 20000k is ridiculous. If you like the purple look, just go with 12000k. It's alot of color, but still a good amount of light. Or, just retrofit some projectors and let the cutoff create the color, and run 4300k. Thats the best of both worlds, and you don't cause any glare. Good luck.
