really? the headlights say on them no HID. and i've read in places to only put in 35w kits because of heat and all that bs. but as long as they dont do short term damage i dont care, they will probably be in a dump in a year or two anyway.

The 55w will wash a bit of color out if your bulbs. Like if u have 6000k bulbs they will look like 4500-5000k. But they will be brighter

If you want the 6k temp range, get 8k bulbs with 55w -- It will kick it back to around 6100-6500 color / temp range. Just make sure your setup can handle the heat.

You should be ok. I meant they would physically work, for how long idk, the heat may burn the reflector bowl in the projectors, but idk. I'm not entirely sure if anyone's done it before. I would just wait and send them back if you're worried about it.

why will my wiring melt? and how would my bulbs or ballasts blow quickly? its no different then running a 55w kit in stock headlights which i done for awhile. my question was can the headlights handle it. which i realize they probably wont, because there not designed for it, but its not like both high and low is going to be running the same time. but anyway they'll be here in another two days. the option to send them back is there im sure but its going to cost me the shipping. i dont know what i will do yet. depends on my mood on wednesday.

As long as you run a relay harness, you're wiring will be fine. Running your hid kit at 55w cuts your bulb life in half. It wears them out quickly. The ballasts may be made to handle 55w, but the bulbs are not.

everythings all perfect! i ran them for a full month now with no relay harnesses with absolutly no issues, no wire melt or anything! the only problem was with high beams on for too long then switch back to low you can't see anything...at all. so i bought a relay harness for each kit and installed today. next is to relay them together. but to any haters or disbelievers, its done with no problems at all!

Haters? No one hating just people giving advice. Also the bulb life will be shortened, 1 month is not enough time to tell.

ok so what if bulb life will be shortened? bulbs are 20 bucks. otherwise, i asked what it would do to the headlights and no one could tell me because it seems no one had done it. well if anything happens for the worse ill let you guys know.

I have run 55 watts for 6 weeks before I took the Gen1s out for winter on the stock harness. Some advice, look at the ground connections on your engine and on the chassis in the front.....they become very corroded (at least in PA during the winter). I cleaned mine and covered the connection with di-electic grease.

The wire damage won't occur short term. The extra heat added over time will not "melt" the wiring but more likely make it brittle and when it gets cold or bounced around allot it will crack and short out.

If that was a shot, it was un called for. Only helping. Hate to see someone ruin there wiring harness without all the facts.
If you wish to run 55 watt ballast just make sure you use s relay.
Bulb life is shortened but not a big deal if you expect it.

i think us canadians get made enough fun of for having cold weather. haha. bulb life is no issue at all. and i have a relay harness on each kit. as for the gen 3's, if they $%#k up from them ill throw them away and sell the hid kits. its not the end of the world. i dont think so anyway...its not 2012 yet is it?

Actually....it was not a shot. I did an assignment there for six months and loved it. Just stating the facts. What is cold to us is absolutely frigid in comparison. The only thing I hated about being there was the temp and the constant wind.
So no poking or making fun of anyone here.....not my forte.
