I tried 8mm on my 2.2 and I could not even get 1 lug nut back on. I think the rule of thumb is 5 full turns of the lugs. Not sure whether the 3mm less will allow that or not. Just be careful dude... spacers can cause a lot of added stress to all the parts behind the rim and if you can't get 5 full rotations of the lugs you risk the studs breaking off if you hit a pot hole or speed bump too hard.

If you have the $$$, hub centric spacers are the way to go.

Keep us up to date. I would like to know how the 5mm's fit.

5mm is the largest spacer you can use on stock studs. i have a set of these. they are made by john powell

1/2 the bolt diameter in thread engagement is maximum strength (rule of thumb) 5 mm is good. Max.
