Adding steering wheel controls

there MAY be a thread about this but im just going to go ahead and ask,
im looking to add the SS steering wheel controls on my 08 LS with NO controls ( i just have the info button and the arrow on the left side)

I wanted to add the SS steering wheel controls (both sides) BUT DONT WANT TO HOOK UP CRUISE ( dont care about it) and i wanted the right side for the audio. do i have to go ahead and wire a million wires.? i have seen a how to but am unsure if this is what i have to do. I read its plug and play one thread. than another says you have to do hella wiring..

I do have the SS steering wheel i need to install. which has the wire with harness attatched on each side.. so for the info button and back arrow to work on the left side of the wheel all id have to do is plug the control into the steering wheel.. Right? if im wrong please correct.
now for the passanger side of the steering wheel for the audio controls to work for my aftermarket sony headunit would all i have to do is plug in the controls, than buy one of these?

PAC SWI-PS Steering wheel control interface for Dual, Jensen, Pioneer, and Sony at Crutchfield.com

or is more wiring needed and i CANT buy a harness like above. i read the how to but wasnt sure if that could be bypass'd by buying a harness like the one above.

let me know. like i said i DONT CARE ABOUT CRUISE WORKING

Yea you would need a module for it to work with your Sony radio. But if you had stock radio it would work no problem.

because all itd cost me is the price of the moduel bc im trading royce something for the controls and WANT to know before i go and do this

Don't buy the PAC interface. Buy the Axxess AWSC.
Lots of people have complained with lag from the PAC.

Sounds like it, AFAIK.
I have an SS so I don't have to deal with that, but I was just chiming in on getting a better steering wheel interface for less money.

Amazon.com: Metra Axxess ASWC Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface (Black): Car Electronics

The steering wheel interface gets wired to your radio/radio harness.

Yes that is all you need as long as you have the wires running to the audio controls on you steering wheel

It's like 3 wires, you'll be alright.
Theres instructions that come with it, as well as online on their website.

so i was looking at the how to and it was saying how the audio controls plug into the wire off the steering wheel than you have to do what the how to says and do custom wiring so the wire from the end of the steering wheel can mate to the sir coil

is this true? or would those wires be connected into the end that plugs into the steering wheel?

also someone told me all they had to do was get he computer flashed by GM and adding all the wires wasnt needed. but they have a LT and im a base with no factory power windows or locks
