Becareful so you don't keep twisting cause it eventually could snap it off, I learned the hard way when I did mine on my 06

That's weird that it won't just come off

Try some wd40 or something, it could be bound up on one of the threads

Alright, and I'm usng a wrench to twist on the black part that's a little thicker than the actual antenna, the piece I'm talking about is like an inch and a half tall

If it is already just spinning you may have already busted something. Check what the antenna wire plugs into from inside the trunk. Is that part spinning too? If it is, you needs a new antenna base.

Well look in the trunk and confirm that the base is in fact broken. It bolts up to a tab in there to keep it straight and immobile. If something did snap, check which it was, the base itself or that bracket that it bolts to. Getting a new base is easy, replacing that bracket, that's hard.
