Thumbs down anyone noticing how flimsy rear 1/4 panel is !!

was hand waxing today and reached the rear of the car behind the tires, and the slighest pressure applied caused panel to push in. upon further inspection i discovered that there are no structural supports going down to help keep those panels rigid. I feel sorry for anyone who purchased this car and lives in a climate where snow is a factor. i grew up in cincinnati, and spent time in rochester ny, and im telling you now, when you start packing snow and slush up into that rear 1/4 panel, she's gonna give. SHITTY ASS POOR DESIGN ON GM'S PART.!! luckily for me im in san diego, and will not have to deal with that..

I live in Canada, and I had an Alero with very similar rear 1/4's (My sub would flex them in and out). Oddly enough I didn't get 500kg's of snow forced up there popping my panels.

This is why we leave the car designing to GM.

Dude, I'm temporarily in Iowa (since Jan til Aug) and you don't get any snow here. I'm sorry but 24" a year does not qualify as a lot of snow.

Try getting 250+ inches per year, then we'll talk

(Houghton, MI).

Are you talking about the rear 1/4 or the bumper cover. The bumper cover comes up very high on this car, but it's plastic. If it had more reinforcement it would dent easier. The lack of reinforcement allows it to flex.

I dont mind a little flex, but it is attached to the inner wheel well, and you sure dont want that thing flexing.
