Anyone with red/black interior.

Just curious if you had any problems with the red interior, mainly on the door panels, any fading, chipping or anything like that?

The more feedback I get the better. I appreciate it!

TIA

From what I have seen the red inserts get really dirty after a while and are a bitch to clean. Not sure if it's true with all colored inserts, but it's just from what I have seen. I have all black inserts on my car so I can't really make a comparison based from my own car. The all black really does stay nice though. After 1 year of use it still looks new.

Thanks for your response. The main reason I am asking is someone is claiming that the red door panel pieces are painted and therefore will chip after a while of use and abuse. They told me to ask any Cobalt owner with the red inserts, so I am just trying to get a good idea of what, if anything to expect. I don't hold this persons opinion to be truth since I don't feel they have a lot of experience on the subject.

I have red inserts and they look brand new. The only reason I could see them being dirty is from people not cleaning their car for a long time and then they can't get it clean. The only thing that looks kind of dirty in my car is the embroidered SS symbol on the seats.

There is no way that they are painted cause the paint would come off/flake when ever you press against it. The insert part on the doors are soft not hard.

There isn't any color on the dash right? Just door panels and seats?

The person who was telling me they were painted, and would chip said that they have two friends with SS's that the paint on the dash is chipping. It's gotta be something they did themselves.

The silver trim is painted. The door skins are a red fabric material. Similar to vinyl/leather.

I know quiet a few people that have chipping problems on the trim where the window and lock switches are but no where else. That is the only thing that is painted though.

My red leather still looks brand new , no fading . I do clean and condition mine at least once every couple months and 1 to 2 times a month for the drivers seat .
