Question back up lights

I have searched, haven't found an answer so I'm asking: I want a better light output for my back up lights, which ones do you recommend me?

I know HID back up lights exist but I don't want to spend 100$.

So anything better than stock one will be great!

VLEDs is way overpriced. I use these in all my sedan tail retros. They are CREE LEDs, the brightest kind. Definitely much brighter than stock. And if you don't believe me, for 8 bucks a pair shipped, there is very little risk

You have a pair I can snag from you tomorrow? The leds in mine are dim as all get out.

V3 triton from vleds.com is the only thing that will be brighter than halogen bulbs.
I have gone thru so many leds. Ended up with a high performance (brighter than stock) halogen bulb.
Led are and look bright but they dont put out the light to where you need it or you need.
I.e. I could no see anything to the rear backing up, only when im close to hit whatever is behind me.

colodude18, are you positive that I will see better in the dark with those leds?

I know they are a good fair price and I have not much to lose but I want better light output and if I can't have that with leds over halogen, i will stay with my bulbs.

Or if someone as a better halogen set to propose, I am open to all suggestions!

I don't care if they are halogen or led...I just want a better lighting in the dark at a fair price.

For now, as I read comments, some say halogen are the brightest and some say led....I just want someone that experiment them opinions! Thanks and keep the comments!

Halogen are definitely brighter; there's a reason head lights still use predominantly halogens and not LEDs (yet)

Look it this way, led is like hid. For optimum performance, you need projectors to properly aim them and get best results. Look at acura and the corolla
as I stated before I used alot of led and those bulb projectors dont do much.
If I had the time I would do a test on the cobalt foglights using leds vs hid lol

Colodude, i saw your tail retros and they are amazing, if you tested those cree led and you are positive they are brighter then stock, I will give them a try.

But why did you said : Halogen are definitely brighter; there's a reason head lights still use predominantly halogens and not LEDs (yet) ??

I know hid are the best but too much for backup light as state. If the Cree ones are a good shot, I will give them a try.

Let me put it this way: I've never done a side-by-side in the dark, but everyone I've made a set of sedan tails for has been happy with them.

My main problem when I went thru the LEDs is that you can't aim them. So I was always aiming straight back and I needed to light up below, (be able to see the parking lines, parallel parking).
The only one that was good, was the projector ones, they light up straight back but I still could not see below.
My mistake saying that I couldn't see behind me.

And I can't find the link, idk even know the brand, was an eBay ones lol those light coated. At least the bulb gave more output that the OEM one. I will check.
I also have the pictures for comparison somewhere lol, for is more for looks.
