Well im hoping there is a more scientific answer to this apposed to a opinion based answer.

If there was no funtional benifits to aftermarket hoods I would definatly be getting an OEM style CF one. Im saying this to stress the point that im not looking to make the looks of my cobalt riced out. Im a big advocate of keeping things plain.

Basicly Im curious if there is a difinitive differene in the cooling abilities of the ram air style hood like this:



of if a vented style hood would be best, like this:




Im thinking that the second option would be superior as its aerodynamic and it allows air in through the front grill and out the vents on the hood.

Im by no means educated on aerodynamics, thus the reason I ask.
If it makes a difference the car is a 06 balt SS that is being sent to Hahn in a few months for an exaust and level 5 turbo kit.

Thoughts?
