Thinking about having a PC black exhaust tip welded onto my exhaust when it's done. Same style, 3" rolled, slanted. I'm trying to find pictures but can't anywhere. Anybody ever see this on a silver car? Might look sweet.

It won't. Dip has a melting point of around 375 F or so. The tip won't get that hot

 

I will be the first. Hell I do it tomorrow.

 

It should hold.. for the most part atleast.. if it melts, it'll atleast have a cool lookin effect

 

just bbq paint it if you want it flat.... Or gloss black caliper paint.

 

I was looking for more of an anodized look.

 

Sorry it is literally 18* here, and plasti dip sucks when it is that cold. Ill have it painted this week with pics.

use high heat paint like header paint

 

If you do decide to do plasti dip instead of high heat paint, run the car for a little while to warm up the tip a little.
As for the plasti dip, put it in a bucket with hot/warm water for a few minutes... A good idea I got from a professional dip installer a while back.

 

I did it a while back. My car is black not silver but it looks pretty good.

High temp flat base. Then a gloss enamel and clear.

 

I have bought inside the house. Ill go out and clean the tip, then spray.

 

plastidip is flammable, but if you want to start a fire go ahead

You guys ever touch your exhaust tip? No you have not. It's not going to start a fire. Don't go coating a downpipe though.

 

Maybe in the aerosol can it's flammable.

 

I actually bought home depot brand of plasti dip for my bowtie emblems today. I might try the exhaust tip too. redcobalt08 looks decent. Aswell as drivetrainsolutions.
