Black interior pics...

Here's a few pics of my interior so far.

Suede visor vs. stock

Another with the mirror open.

No more stupid ugly warning sticker!

Visor in place. Suede headliner. I dyed the weather strip with some VHT dye. I used the VHT black satin interior plastic paint on the pillars and all the other plastic. I hand painted the white arrows on the sunroof control.

Another shot of the A pillar with the boost gage.

The C pillar and hanger with a look at the headliner in the back seat.

Black painted dash and black HVAC controls and radio face.

Well, that's it for now. I have some more work to do to it. I definitley need some interior lighting! It's so damn dark in my car now!

Yeah the picture quality kinda sucks. I took them in the garage, it looks way different in person, especially in the daylight. At night though, you can't see **** except for the lit areas of the dash. I'm gonna do some blue LEDs soon to brighten it up a bit.

personally, i think this is pretty bad ass. im a huge fan of black and think that almost any color added to ones interior often times can be very conflicting. im not a big fan of the blue leds but to each his own. it might look really bad ass if you do some white lighitng.

Looking good man. There was a member at the 1st annual Cobalt meet that did the same thing. It looks amazing in person.

Congrats and nice work. Looks very comfy in there.

looking good. its funny i just bought all the dash trim peices to paint them gloss black. I really like the way it looks with the rest of the dash. i was going to leave the radio, center bar and hvac controls silver though. how did you paint them black with out painting over any of writing and stuff?

im a retard and realized you probably got black hvac and radio face of another vehicle

This looks like a project I may want to do.

Thanks.

Wow, I thought this thread was dead. OK to answer some questions. The material is micro-suede. The lady at the fabric store said that it is way better than real suede for this project (it's lighter, easier to clean, about half the price and it adheres much better). I bought 3 yards of it to do the headliner, door inserts and the Recaro inserts and if I have any left over I'll do the back seat inserts. The visors are not easy to do so take your time or you'll get really frustrated and mess it up. For the dash I used the GM stuff from the dealer that matches the body and then clear coated it with Rustoleum Crystal Clear. The HVAC and radio controls came from a test drive of the base model, I traded them out, I didn't steal them. The salesman I bought my car from thought the silver looked better in the base model. Sorry, I don't have part numbers. As far as getting the headliner out, remove all pillars then a little persuasion will get it out. If you don't know how to remove the pillars, you shouldn't even attempt this project. As for pictures outside of my garage in the daylight, well, my camera sucks ass. It's like 7-8 years old 1.2 mega-pixels, so yeah, like I said it sucks ass. I will have to get someone to get some better shots of it for me. Any other questions just PM me. I'm usually on here at night when I work (I work the grave shift).

I m still curious about the visors, I m assuming you did them your self then? Did you sew up new new covers? How do they come apart, it seems like they re glued together at the one seem that there isnt a stitch.
