Blinker Question

Ok so I can't find it anywhere so I'm coming to you guys. Do blinkers have to be amber?? I live in MN if anyone knows it would be awesome. I got my gen 1 projectors from buyHIDs today and even though they look amazing I think a bulb that matches my 10000K hids would look better. thanks!

Yes they do. Consider switchback LED's which are white, and then turn amber when you actually signal. Mind you, they're not going to be as uselessly blue as your 10000k HID's.

You can find the ones from 3bspec on eBay; v-leds.com also has them.

Now lets think this over. 10000k hids are blue. Flashing blue. Does that sound like a good idea?

Just make sure you have blinker fluid.

For normal driving, I wouldn't put on anything that flashes blue.. I know where I'm from the cops and highway patrol seem to have a problem with flashing blue lights on cars, or anything for that matter.. I had the old battery's on my phone that flashed blue sometimes... Didn't help my dad had one that flashed red, luckily we got away with nothing...

Whether or not you get pulled over for that is really dependent on the cop's mood. Yes it is technically illegal to have signals be anything other than amber, but the cop has to actually care about it to pull you over for it, and chances are he'll find some other excuse to pull you over first them hit you with that one.

Thinking about getting these. so when turn signal is active it flashes amber. but white all other times.
TYPE 2 DUAL COLOR CHANGING HID 6K WHITE AMBER SWITCHBACK 60 M-SMT TURN SIGNAL BULBS 3157 3157NA 3357 3457 4157 4057
Does anyone else have these? do i need resistors?
It will look 100x better with these.

btw i will get some updated clean pics of the ss and headlights
tomorrow when all the snow is finally melted and i can drive it.

i have the switchbacks and you will need a resistor to stop the fast blinking but if you dont mind that then you dont need resistiors

Same ones I got. Thought you sold your retros?

Yes you do NEED resistors. If you get them from v-led.com, buy some connectors at O'rileys or somewhere, the ones they send are really cheap. Hit me up if you need help on the install, I had to test each power wire to find the one I wanted.

Correcting myself, you need resistors to avoid hyper flash and possibly destroying your LED's.

You need resistors. You will look like a fat lazy retard without resistors and are better off leaving your blinkers stock. You only have to splice 2 wires it's very easy.

I wonder if there is a way to cut one of the four wires to never have the parking light on, untill the turn signal is active.
Thanks for the help, will prolly end up buying those. Ill prolly give you a call josh in the near future.

What would be the point of this?

So when the fog lights are on, only the fog lights are on. and when the headlights are on just the headlights are on. So there will be no amber color ever...untill the turn signal is active.

Nice, I'm not the only one who doesn't see any possible benefit or reason to do this hahaha.

just get switch backs..no amber color, untill your blinker is on, and you can wire the light behind the reflector to your turn signals as well

Switchbacks would be a better choice rather than removing your parking lights altogether, that's just one more thing for a cop to ding you on.
