Body Side Molding

Did a search found no results.

A co-worker insists on me getting some black gloss finish body side molding to protect my car from needless bumps from asshats who can't park/open their doors correctly. I don't disagree that it would help protect the car, I just don't see how it could look good on the car. Maybe it would be more subtle than I imagine.

Has anyone on the forum actually put side molding on? Got pics?

I think ive seem some on trucks. They look like they go with the truck itself. Ive even seen some on some cars. But I mean, how many people "nick" your car to go pay several hundred for something that you really dont need. Save yourself some money and park futher away.

I'm not a huge fan, but if someone has gotten a lot of door dings and knows that if there was a molding strip there wouldn't be any it would be a huge benefit.

I found a place that sells gloss black strips which would fit my car but I'm just not sold on it. Nor would I even know how low/high to put them on the vehicle.

My car came from the factory without them, and while I have a few dings, I'll never put them on. They only protect your car if the door hitting you is in the right place height-wise for the molding to be effective. My door's been dinged in places the molding would have had no chance in hell of stopping it.
