Body side molding

As you can see im stuck with the chrome ones.....my question is, how do you take them off? Is it the same way you do it with the badges?

Not sure if the chrome ones are the same, but I took my side moldings off with some fishing line, lots of patience and time and some goo gone, followed up by a lil wax, and it looks real good. i would assume that yours are just painted chrome if not the same stuff as mine was, so give it a try hope that helps man.

I agree with wbrault, if you take of the side moldings you might want to consider the door handles Mason, they will just stand out. and yeah it is easier to keep clean without the moldings it does'nt leave those dry running marks.

well...i decided to start doing that today. just bought some goo gone and towel.

if the chrome handles stand out too much, ill just paint it black afterwards. but i think it will be fine coz the saturn sky and some buicks have the same handle anyways

looks good without them. i wouldnt use goo gone it has denatured alcohol in it which is a solvent which can thin or remove you clearcoat.

i like the chrome trim on your car...it's the only Cobalt i've seen with the chrome, and it makes it look refined, classy and dignified.

it also makes it look like the car cost a LOT more money than what you paid for it.

I also like the chrome on it more. Makes it look more than just a 4dr cobalt.

My cobalt is over a year old now and I was planning on taking off the side mouldings too, i love smooth look of the ss without the mouldings, now my question is I have the orange paint can i expect color faid when they are off, I already removed the rear bowtie from the trunk and had a spot where the adhesive was but polished it away.
