bowtie cracked...HELP!

currently painting my bowtie black, but when i was taking it off, it cracked and broke in two pieces. i appoxied it back together and it is now one piece. it also had a smooth surface (one piece was not higher than the other). i began to paint, thinking that the paint would cover the evidence of the crack, but i was wrong. ive done 4 coats or so and when its fresh sprayed the crack goes away, but when it drys you can kind of see it. will this eventually go away with more coats and clear coat? anyone else had this issue?

i may have to order a new piece : ( anyone know how much they cost?

You could probably put enough coats of paint on to cover the crack, but it might be easier to just buy a new one and start over.

well, i did enough coats and i cant see the crack now, im now doing clear coating...probably wont be on my car until friday or so. i just hope i dont crack it by pushing on it when i glue it back on. ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG I NEED TO WAIT BEFORE EXPOSING IT TO WATER/SOAP/WAX?
also would it be a good idea to put adhesive all over the back to strengthen it before putting it back on the grille?

read the back of the paint can.

You can answer most of your questions from there.

same thing happend to mine. Im going to go buy some of that clay/bondo stuff to put over it. sand it down and repaint. and dont use gorilla glue. that **** swells up and leaks out the sides and completely ruins it.

If you epoxy it on there you will NEVER get it off again. Epoxy is binary plastic, a resin and a hardener, so if you use it to reattach your bowtie it will be beyond glued on. I'd use something closer to the factory adhesive. Auto stores should have something that is strong enough but not quite so permanent, just my 0.02.

as for the epoxy, i thought the bowtie itself was damaged, i didn't mean to use it to re-attach it to the car. Also, sounds like you sprayed to much clear to quickly.
