I bought Silverstars and ran them for two weeks before I bought MTEC Cosmos.

Haha... if you want my Silverstars I'll sell them to you. Otherwise... I'd suggest something like MTEC, Streetglow, or Nokya.

Actually, that is really close to being a correct statement. I was looking at consumer reports yesterday and it tested these in 3 different cars. On a few occasions the 'aftermarket' lights didn't perform as advertised. The 2 mentioned lights produced the same if not more light. Specifically, lighting distance and clarity. I can't quote specific examples however I did notice that the 2 mentioned maintained or exceeded the stock bulbs.
So, I know owners have used silverstars and are happy with them. The nighthawks I dont remember hearing about them.

Showing the drivers perspective would better clarify your point.

PIAA's are the best lights out there, besides HID's
proven
plus they have a lifetime warranty, silverstars are only supposed to last 30 days or so

oh god the glare! no, i really dont want to go plug and play... its muy illegal and cheap looking in my opinion. like throwing on a fart can instead of going cat back. if i go hid, i'll do like mercury and get projectors. still illegal, but smarter. and since that would cost upwards of $500, i'll stick with halogen. what i want to know is what is the best halogen i can get, im happy with the light output i have, but more light further down the road would be nice with the high beams. i would like really white light, with as little blue as possible. if anybody could help, this would be nice.

rate silver stars vs piaa's in the 3 categories

1)Brightness
2)Color
3)Quality

Our cars do come with GE bulbs for headlamps but they are not the Nighthawk variants.

Ughhh, do not get HID.

Get Silverstars. Seriously. They are awesome, I use them in all of my family's halogen equiped cars.
