Car Show - Any Tips?

Yeah my school is having a car show this next Friday and I've entered. That morning I'm waking up at 5 a.m. to do a complete clean out of the car, vacuum, wash, and dry it, then go to school. So, here's the big question, what kind of appearance enhancing products, wax, tire shine, wheel cleaner, engine polish, etc. would you guys recommend for a car show. I don't care how expensive it is....
Rumor is the SS is favored to win already, and we've got M3's, STi's, two 69 Camaros (with disc brakes all the way around), H1's, H2's, Boxer's, etc. Isn't that just awesome

I know around here where im from, you need to open your hood and your trunk and even a door open is good. Judges like to see how clean it is everywhere! Alot of car shows around here will dock you points for having your hood closed or your trunk becuase they cant see anything that could award you extra points. Oh, and make sure everything is outta your car. Dont leave cd bags or trash or even a watch or pen in the cup holders and so forth, you get docked around here for that too. Show all you can and make sure shes MEGA clean! hehe and good luck.

Yeah I'll take pictures! And the trophy isn't that big, maybe 8" tall, or at least last years was - which went to the M3.

Meguire's is great stuff. Be sure to give it plenty of time to dry. I washed mine in the afternoon, and later that evening I still had water coming out from around the spoiler and from behind the front bumper.

This is from a previous Best Engine Winner.

Clean anything that can be seen. Use a degreaser on the engine. tire shine on the black plastic stuff, spray it on then clean it off. Most importantly besides cleaning the crap out of your interior, exterior, engine bay, clean the undercarriage. This is forgotten by most people. Cleanliness is close to godliness, and no amount of money that somebody puts into a car, should not over look how clean the car is.

And damn, I want to go to your high school.

I use the meguires nxt line and they work great if you want to do something really cool get some Meguires alluminum polish and the finest steal wool they make(it says for polishing on the package) and polish you valve cover and supercharger. I did this on mine and for show i put a blue neon in the engine bay got mad points for that.

Also dont rush the wak job take plenty of time and make sure that there are absolutely nothing on any of your windows they look real hard for that around hear.

By the way where do you go to school?

Good luck and may the best man, i mean may the SS win.

One of the trick's I learned when I worked at a detail shop buy some aresol tire dressing, something like STP no touch, Spray your tires the night before pop the hood spray the plastic under the hood let soak over night next morning wash the car spray the engine bay the dressing will have soaked into the rubber and your tires will look good with out the shine or splash back from driving. If you can buy some Meguires Final Inspection (auto paint supply stores carry it) some micro fiber towels get you a prime parking spot @ the show and re detail it there to remove any road grime you pick up on the way if you want to get some 12"x12" mirrors and place them under the front and sides of your car to show how clean it is underneath Good luck and post some pics
