so for the first time i took off my interior trim and painted it... came out looking good and after i turned the key my check engine light is on. im guessing its on because one of the wire connectors i took out inst in but all the functions work just like before.. wondering if anyone else had problems with this and how to fix it. thanks.

so go to autozone and have them hook up and see what the code is. just because it happened around the same time doesn't mean it's related, although if reading the code doesn't have any fruitful ending you know where to go next..

 

nahh its definitely why its on there.. car is perfect only 13k miles on it and it wasnt on before i did. im gona run to auto zone now thanks for the input.. ima newb and didnt know they diagnose problems.

 

I hate that I have to agree with him but 05 is right. Could be just a coincidence that it came on now and may be completely unrelated.

Could still be something stupid throwing the code. Just tell them you have a cel and want it read. they'll read it and give you a printout of what the code is.

didnt know takin off trim could set off a trouble code.

 

The wrong type of paint/overly painting throws could p89023a. Which is sometimes related to rice malfunction.
