Most people just take them off and spray paint them. The search feature's a pretty handy tool my friend.

Best way is plastidip. That way if you get tired of it after a while or just don't like it, it just peels right off.

Ya I just gave my front bowtie a light scuff, taped off the chrome because I still wanted it, shot it with some primer, black paint and clear. I do a lot of highway driving and 2 years later it still looks mint. When I did my center caps I just used a black plastic paint

I peeled the gold off from the chrome backing, sprayed it down with black, clear coated a few times, then buffed to a nice gloss, then used some contact cement to put it back in its chrome thing

i used vinyl for mine.... i dont like the permanence of paint for resale.... it doesnt look as good as paint but i dont trust myself as far as painting goes.... and i found that if you call local vehicle lettering shops they will usually throw you any scraps they have lying around for nothing.... so long as you promise to use them if you ever need any signs done

I dont think a coloured bowtie will do anything to resale

Took these off my spare deck lid yesterday. might use the SS and SC logo's. Maybe I'll take the chevy logo and stick it on a riced hodur?

Make sure you don't use the SS the way you're displaying it...

upside down.

When doing plasti dip, do you put primer on it or clear coat?

I just went Upto the dealer got victory red paint in a spray paint can ( they sell them like this for touch up's) sanders primed.painted cleared and polished it. Looks pretty good still after almost 2 years and the paint was a spot on match.

Wow, I didn't even realize that. Guess I'll make my car "Cobalt LT 55" then.

^This. You can spray the emblem while it's on your car. When the excess paint dries, peels right off. Will not leave a mark on your car. Just did mine. Plasti dip is amazing!

ok ya ill try the plastidip idea. Would it work for just the gold part of the emblem? Does it have to wrap around the whole emblem? I dont know if it will start peeling off or somthing if i dont wrap the whole thing.

yea it will work for just the gold part, just use paper or tape to mask off the chrome part if you don't want the whole emblem done. plastidip is a spray- paint like material that rubberizes to be more of a protective coating than anything. but it is also removable if you don't like it. look at 1 of my previous posts for a pic
