Chrome grille trim

On those newer lower-level cobalts, can anybody give me the part number? I'll also try the dealer.

http://vehicleassets.captivelead.com...FE01_large.jpg - obviously a modded car, but that's the trim I mean.

Also aside from the trim there, could anybody present other, maybe different styling options for this mod? I'd be happy with just that option, but want to see if there's any more around.

Chrome grille is one mod that can't be reversed, as you have to cut off your center bar to install it. So if you do it and don't like it later, you can't go back to stock without either reattaching the center bar or getting a new bumper.

Yeah I found that out when I installed mine. The way the thing is designed makes it so the center bar is in the way. The chrome piece snaps onto the grey plastic grille behind it, which it also comes with the kit because the slats are shaped differently than the non-chrome one.

you know if you ever get tired of the chrome you can always paint it. i bet it would look like the wider bars like on the new malibu. i think those wider bars look way better. the cobalt bars are too thin imo

Well, what do you guys think... I have an 06 2.4L SS, laser blue; am leaning towards chrome led-halo-HID lighting (also considering black housing).

I instantly loved that piece when I saw it, and in thinking about it don't think I would eventually dislike it. Because I actually don't think much of the current, stock center grille trim other than digging the bowtie.

Also, are there any other options for grille trim like that out there? I can't seem to find any.

And NCC, that looks like chrome housing lighting in your sig for your car, is it? Haven't got to see it on a car yet.

Yeah my headlights are chrome third gens, I got the chrome because I knew I was gonna have a red & chrome theme going on with my car eventually so it made sense. IMO if you go with the chrome lights, you should do something else like getting the chrome grille kit so that everything flows nicer. Just doing one or the other kinda makes the front end look funny.

There are a few options for the grille other than the GM chrome trim, but not many. You could get the grilles that come on the TCs, which have somewhat of a honeycomb mesh instead of the regular slat style. Or you can look into billet grilles, I know they exist but I don't know who makes them or who sells them.

Here's a closer view of my car so you can see what my lights and grille are like:

To give you a better idea what the chrome looks like on a blue car, I photoshopped mine to make it laser blue or as close to it as I could get from memory:

that might look sick on a black car painted black with a black bowtie with the chrome outline around the bowtie
