Clean LED bar/pod install location

Any of you guys here running light bars/ light pods? I wanna get one but I don't wanna ruin the whole front of the car, I want something that'll let me tuck away somewhere but still be functional if that's even possible lol

I have bixenon projectors but the high beams leave more to be desired, and I wanna be able to turn them on on a moments notice without having to worry about warm up time. I want something to really annoy people with pnp led and hid
This is what I'm working with

Great observation

That's why I'm looking to tuck it away, not mount it to the grill or roof

Ideally you'd want your aux lights as high as you can afford. Which would mean mounting them inside the windshield near the visors. Alternatively you could run a bar the width of the upper grill, but then you'll obviously be losing some light due to it being partially obstructed.

What bulb setup are you running in your HIDs? Those should be stupid bright.

I'm running Osram CBI's but I had to mess with the cutoff shields because I added clear lenses, so one side sticks intermittently when I flash the highs. I'm gonna fix that eventually but I've opened up the cobalt's lights way too many times and I need a break to work on my other retrofits finally lol

They're also plenty bright when both shields actually drop but 99% of my driving is in the day so warm up time is a bitch even with my Densos.

I'm not against hiding it behind the upper grille as long as I can make it sturdy enough

There's plenty of upper frame rail to mount to behind that grill. I don't know the exact measurement, but one of TRS' light bars should mount back there nicely.

Tbh there is really no where to put a light bar on your car. Just go with whatever offers the most light output with your HIDs if you're worried about lights.

It's a cobalt its not meant to have light bars mounted to it and it would be a lot of money that could be well spent elsewhere.

If you drive 99% during the day, then why do you "need" a light bar?

It's for that 1% of the time that I am driving at night and the rest of the time to flash douche bags with pnp hid and led like I've said. I don't wanna have to worry about turning the bulbs on and waiting 10 seconds just to flash. Plus when I fix the other projector I'm planning on taking it off and putting it on my terrain anyways

I see small cars everywhere with led pods hidden behind grilles and such. So I assumed there must be someone with them on a cobalt. Just looking for examples here and I'm gonna do this eventually regardless

Lights meant for road use with proper cut off lines? Or flood lights meant for lighting up off-road trails.

Don't be an idiot and use them on the street.

Most light bars are spotlights for the inners and flood lights on the outside. Both will almost blind other drivers

wtf is up with people putting these light bars on cars. seeing it more and more. looks goddamn retarded and why the f*ck would you put that on a road car?? if seriously to blind people, then you'll probably end up getting shot or run off the road.
put stock headlights back in with good bulbs, no need for anything else. and yes I drive in the dark 70% of the time I drive my car, stock headlights with zxe bulbs and I can see fine without even using high beams

I drive my car a good bit at night too. I don't ever have problems with people blinding me (on purpose) and if they're behind me, simply move over, or if they're coming towards me, a little double flash of high beams will get the point across that you can't see. Don't come on here asking how to blind people on the road when that is something "99%" of people don't want to do to other people. It's unnecessary and immature, and if you get mad over someone having their high beams on, you should get off the road.
There are a lot of people that have trouble seeing in the dark as well, not everyone has perfect eyesight and not everyone is comfortable driving at night with bad vision. Don't make it worse for them.

There's a difference between someone using high beams and someone with lights not meant for road use or hids in regular headlights not meant for them.

Not that. Saying people ride around with high beams on sometimes.

Holy crap I wasn't trying to start a war here lol. It's just a quick fix for the time being until I can fix the shield on the one projector. I've opened up the cobalt lights enough times in the past few months and I need to work on my next project before I go insane!

Like I said it's mainly for the douches who drive around with hid and led in the wrong housings, and people who have their led pods on like running lights. I wanna annoy them as much as they're annoying everybody.

If anyone still has an issue I honesty don't care. I know about proper cutoff and distance etc. I got a pair of spot light led's on order that I'll get to some weekend and at some point later I'll put them on my Terrain. Still better than those guys who replace their high beam altogether with led pods

its like guns and everything else.
