Clear Coat

Hi,
The clear coat on my '05 has what looks to be little white bubbles in a few places, such as near the reverse lights and a few spots on the roof. Nothing major. I was wondering if there is a cheap/easy way to alleviate or fix it? or if it even needs to be fixed? i obviously dont have the money to respray my car for something as small as this but i want it fixed. Thanks for any help i can get.

jack

Sounds like the clearcoat has/is seperating from the color coat. Kind of a rare scenario for these cars, and unfortunately we cant always blame it on the owner not protecting their paint, it just happens to some regardless. There really is no cheap fix; you will need those areas (atleast!) Resprayed if you want good learcoat. If youre good with a gun, youll have to do the paintwork yourself.

Damn thats unfortunate. I take really good care of the car which is why im not sure why it is occurring. Do you know if the lack of clearcoat in certain places will cause problems?

Generally once a bit of it bubbles up that area becine succeptible to water getting under it and increasing the area that the clearcoat defect will spread. After the clear is gone it can start to get under the other layers and rust will start to form.

Please post a picture or two, might help us grasp whether this is the problem i think it is. i notice your new, you can upload pics to a photobucket account and copy the img codes into your posts.
