Clear Side Marker Lights

Well im surprised these arent common.. but im looking for the clear rear side marker light covers.

I have them on my camaro, yet cannot find them for my cobalt. It could clean up the side of the car a little.

hmmm...What do you guys think would happen if I dipped them in bleach or something? would that clear it up? My only concern would be the actual plastic that hold the bulb. dont realy wan to damage that. :-S

you can clear those the same way i cleared the side marker's in the headlights. I used the plastic covering material for flourescent lights. You can find the stuff in any hardware store like Lowe's Home depot, etc.

I dont think he is saying he used bleach....he just used light fixture covers and cut them to the size of the original peices. I have seen this same thing done on a few other cars and its not a bad idea until they actually come out with replacements...Oh and i dont think bleach would work but you can give it a try and let us know the outcome but I wouldnt expect much of a clearing effect.

it really isn't that hard to do all you need is a dremel and the plastic. It comes in different types of sheet. The one i got was 2'x2'. I have some time off next week and i will give it a try for you guys and post a how-to. if anyone is interested.

Anyone who does this, make sure to keep your old ones in a box somewhere. Most of the J-Body guys I know took out their clear side markers when they started to turn yellow a few years later.

what would you guys consider an acceptable price for these? I know how to make them using an OEM red one for making a mold, but if its not economical (aka profitable) for me to do I wouldnt really consider it..

one thing I've learned here is that cobalt owners are cheap so I need to ask this first

well son of a bitch i was thinking of making something like this for months now, but have had so much **** on my plate and not enough money of time to make a prototype. a lil bit of an investment for the mold making stuff and the resin just to make something noone wanted lol and as someone previously stated it would have to me cost effective.
