The outer ring is supposed to be the blinkers. On the VW Passat's, when they hit the brakes, the middle light comes on. Then blinkers are the outers. So it looks like the circle is getting bigger and smaller. That's how they originally work on the VW.

I don't know if I am going to go yet or not.

The passats lights are controlled by a computer so I can't get the same effect. On the cobalts the brake and turn signals are on the same wire. And a cool thing about the passat lights that I couldn't take advantage of is that on the ring part there is actually red and amber leds. So if I wanted to i could make the ring red, amber, or both but this combination is what I liked the best.

And alot of effort was put in to wiring it up backwards thru the Cobalt harness with no passat wiring diagram , hehe .

I got both of mine for $60 shipped from California. The place is called OEMPL.us and I found them from surfing around on vwvortex.com. Yesterday I email the guy in charge there and asked if he had some more. He responded today saying that he does but they weren't somewhat damaged like the ones I got from him before and they would cost me $150 shipped. The only thing wrong with the ones that he sent me were they had a few scratches on the len's which doesn't matter since I just hacked them up anyways. I look for some at carparts.com which is a site that searches inventory in junkyards around the country and the cheapest that I found is like $85 for 1 light and there are not that many out there. Another vehicle to try is the new Eos cause they have virtually the same lights.

Some ******* just -rep me for these. They said " dude... they look the same as the stockers. what a waste of time." I spent a lot of time and hard work on these so if you don't like them there is no need to neg rep me. The best part is that the person is a ***** cause they didn't leave their name after their comment. So whoever sent me -rep come out of the closet so I can talk to you about respect for others opinions and ****. I understand that some people might not like them but to -rep me because of that, come on.
