Eventually I will, but it took a lot of time and effort to make. And I have some other things in mind first.

I'd like to add something here... if you want to separate the turn signal from the brake you could just splice into the third brake light to get a brake-only signal, splce into your front turn signal wires to get signal-only... through the use of diodes and resistors you can perfectly replicate the Passat. This would look absolutely SICK on a G5 coupe.

havent done it yet so i dont have a clue...i assume it should be easier than cobalt ones cuz theres more grip and leverage as a result of the shape...what are you thinking about doing?? im planning to take mine apart in the near future and painting most of the inside part black to darken it up

Get a hold of some LED tails for semi trucks. They're 4" around and should fit pretty easy inside the G5 lights once you take em apart. Just a thought.

eh i dont like the way those look...im gonna look around for passat lights like these and try that

i gotta measure the diameter of the chrome circle of the actual taillight under the lens and see what will fit in there

i might even be able to just get a set of cobalt outer taillights and some how retro fit them into the g5 lens...i dont have much experience in ******* around with **** like that esp with wiring so i gotta be careful

Making them for the G5 might be a little more difficult to do. I don't think I have the capabilities to make them but it would be interesting to compare the size of the g5 and passat lights.

It wont be hard at all. Just cook them in the oven at about 200 degrees for 20mins or so and they should just come right apart but be careful so you don't break the outer lens.

Here are some pics from tonight. Haven't really got any good night time pics. Maybe I will find someone with a good SLR to take some pics this summer.

I don't actually have a G5, but thanks to you and the other guys with this info; I'm thinking of opening up my taillights at some point down the road for an LED setup.

The pics look awesome by the way.

Someone should try Jetta-style lights also, where the right half of the circle is a turn signal. That would also be pretty nifty.
