Cobalt LS... with SS body kit
So to day after I vacumed out all the sand from my car (I was at the beach yesterday with the g/f) I went to pull out and I seen what I thought was an SS... The balt was right in front of me and I didn't think anything of it... its an SS and I seen a few... so we were headed the same direction, i was off to the audio store and she was off to where ever she (yes it was a woman driving) was going, and a few blocks b4 I turned i realized it said COBALT LS under the tail light, i just want to say that it was the best looking LS I have seen personally, and nice job to who ever you may be. I'm also wondering how much they had to spend on body parts and painting to make it look that way... maybe it would have been cheaper to just get an SS, or maybe not.
just thought i would tell you guys and gals about it

I will have to agree, it is the best looking body kit i've seen for these cars. Some of the other ones look a little "extreme".....some people might like em.... It is also nice to have something differant or uniqe though.... cobaltaddictions also have a good selection of body kits if you want to see what else is out there.....

I'm not saying it doesn't look good... it look great and rear bumper was bit diff... it had a dual exhaust... but it made no sound at all... like it's not getting enough pressure to make a sound... but over all a good looking car
dual exhaust? you sure its not the Razzi body kit? There is no way to put duals on the ss/sc rear bumper unless you did custom work, I think the LS cobalts with the Razzi body kits come with a regular(quiet) muffler aswell....might be why it wasnt loud too....IIRC, GM only hooked up the one side, not both, so the second muffler is just for "looks".....
since your from Va beach, check the Va thread. i can only remember 1 of us having a body kit on his cobalt. he also has the SS s/c spoiler on it with duel exhaust. his g/f might have been driving it since i believe he's out on duty.
It would be very expensive to do. I manage a collision center and looked up everything it would take to put a full ss kit on it. Front bumper, rear bumper, rocker mouldings, hardware, paint etc. The cost came out to about $2800. Just for the parts without install or paint it is about $1900. Very expensive. I personally would not invest that kind of money in an ls.

better off going aftermarket... the dealer charges rediculous amounts.. just for the LIP on the ss/sc and the clips to hold it was like 400$, and aftermarket bumpers are around 250.
It is more than that for just the lip and hardware, but I do not recommend aftermarket body kits because they fit poorly. Most of them can be made to look good with a little fabrication work, but some of them just do not fit as nicely as the factory ones. I have had a lot of nightmares with those kits.
go on www.car-part.com its a website for junkyards and you put in the area you wanna look in. and just buy it part by part. prolly save you a couple hundred bucks.
