corvette badge
Product Listing -
that white car pictured is terrible... nothing redeeming about it IM(less than)HO...
but I think you guys are missing something;
the flags haven't always been a Corvette deal - it used to be one of the traits of an SS Chevrolet(!)
That's why these types of badges existed;
I believe this one is for a 67-69 Camaro SS

This one should be self explanitory

This one is also an impala badge

What am I getting at?;
1) most assuredly not a Corvette exclusive thing.
2) I think it could be done tastefully, but why bother?

I've seen it one a silver ss and it replaced the chevy emblem. Didn't look horrid better than some things ive seen done to a cobalt but imo i dont really care for it but its your car and you have to live with what you do so if you think its cool then by all means do it.
I put the Corvette racing skull (aka: Jake) on mine for about a month or so but decided i liked the clean look better and took them back off....here are a couple pics

Notice the dent on my door from my wonderful girlfriend....the wind ripped the door out of her hand one day when she was driving it, and it hit the mirror on her wrangler which was parked beside it.

"The pejorative is often intended to denigrate cars which have been modified cosmetically to give a false impression of high performance, but not actually capable of it. The accusation behind this is that the car has been customized with the intent to fool people."

in stock form my Cobalt would give any of those a good run for their money - actually stock to stock, I'd bet I could beat most, if not all... (I have never seen a 409 Impala run at the track - since 409 anything is super rare up here)
imho if this is done right it could be a nice lil add on.... remember our cars are definately designed after a vette... our suspension is a direct design of a vette.... and soundjunky is right.... our cars are a true ss.... we can beat alot of the old ss's from years past....ps the cobalt/corvette bump comercial is the second best chev comercial ever.... right behind the banned corvette comercial.... with the kids!!!!!!!!!!

they might have more power, but imho, 1/2 of the equation is how fast the car is;

the '08 Sport is the exact same package as the '06-07 SS 2.4L, you would have no arguments from me there;
but if you would be in any way attempting to imply that the '09-10 'sport appearance package' cars should be considered an SS becasue they look like the '05-07 SS/2.4L & '08 Sport, I would beg to differ....
but maybe you're having a case of selective reading??!?
because there is no clear consensus on this one - the closest there is to a consensus (from what I've read, is that although it can probably be made to look ok, it's kinda dumb, and that the white car on page #1 is utterly terrible.

@ 05Slowline;
if you're laughin at my suggestion that the SS/TC is faster in the quarter (or did I need to spell the last bit out?) than many vintage musclecars in 100% original trim?!?
Here are some examples;
(taken from the current issue of Muscle Car Review, citing the April 1966 issue of Car & Driver, part of a six car-supercar comparison)
1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS369: 14.66 @ 99.88mph
1966 Buick Grand Sport (400): 14.92 @ 95.13mph
1966 Oldsmobile 442 (400): 14.59 @ 100.55mph
If you doubt my numbers, feel free to look them up - but please keep the following in mind;
All the articles of late about "stock" cars pulling stellar times -> those are built to compete using NHRA's "pure stock" class.
Those 'pure stock' cars all have blueprinted engines, optimized suspension & drive gear, make wayyy more than the factory hp numbers (while using correct parts) - but are in no way representative of the way the cars left the factory;
Just like how Cmiller's Cobalt only appears like an SS/TC the way it leaves the factory - but can somehow blow the doors off every other SS/TC running the factory turbo.

I still think the Cobalt "bump" commercial is the best Cobalt, if not Chevrolet commercial by far...
