Cupholder LED rice mod
Cupholder LED rice mod

Couple things - just did this a few minutes ago. It's longer wires than necessary in there and they're not properly connected because I just wanted to see how it'll look... they're replacing my shifter tomorrow under warranty so I'm taking the cupholder out anyway. Don't leave long wires in there cause they'll **** with your shifter linkage. These are prewired 5 mm blue LED's from oznium.com. I have a shitload of Oznium stuff lying around so I just said what the hell. Rice? Yes. Awesome looking with a drink in there? Yes. Can't really tell in the pic with flash, but the LED's sit flush with the rubber in the cupholder. I just used a small screwdriver to poke holes, then a bigger one to kinda bore it. You can drill if you want I guess... I dunno. They, like my footwell LED's, are connected to a relay which is triggered by the running lights, so they come on with the autolights. Any other questions feel free to ask.
In terms of the actual brightness, it's not AS bright as pics 1 and 2, but it's pretty damn close. I was thinking of putting Oznium superfluxes in there... I wouldn't recommend that.
Like I said it's not quite as bright as it looks in the pic cause they're a bit overexposed... but of all the stuff I have lying around I don't have a 12V dimmer which would be ideal for this. So I'll probably do up a switch that's separate from my other lights; these will get annoying on an drive of distance at night or if the cupholders are empty.
i cant do this cause i have 7 color interior LED's and if i had 1 solid color LED's in my cupholders...what do i do when i have like purple on under dash and then red in my cupholder. it would just **** me off. i wish i could hook up 7 different cup holder colors.
That would be dope. Ever since I saw pics of the Converj concept it's become like a fetish of mine to have that ******* sick lit up interior. I can't build **** so I'm kinda limited in what I can do here. I might wire these up so that when you're moving they're dim, but when you're parked (i.e., e-brake is up) they're relayed to a second 12V+ that's not resisted so they return to full brightness. Anyone that has installed an h/u know where the e-brake wire is so I can relay to it?
Hopefully nobody calls it rice when I install temp sensors into my cupholders
so that I can read the temperature of my drinks through my carPC, LOL
Because no one likes to drink warm beer, especially when they're driving!
