Main reason I installed the center bulb was visibility. Although it definitely draws more attention under braking, the LED ring by itself is bright enough without it. So now it's optional ;-)
It would probably be better if it didn't engage with the blinkers, but that's a wiring nightmare. In our state red colored lights are never illegal. Blue gets you in trouble.

got pulled over yesterday for speeding. cop didn't say a thing about the tailights. all he said was my windows were a little dark.

Well good the means that the LEDs are bright enough despite the tinted lenses!

"a little dark" is OK, assuming you didn't get ticketed for them? I just had my daughter's new car done with 15% metallic all around. Told her to blame me if she gets pulled over ;-)

Believe it or not, pulling apart the sedan lights is actually the hardest part. Those lenses break when you just breathe on them. Ask me how I know ;-)

nope, no ticket for the windows. i was going 70 in a 40 anyhow. dumbest thing i've done. never speeding again. except for at high plains! that's what my windows are 15%.
