i wouldnt say no chance.. really depends on products and what buffer/polisher u have, if u have a random orbital, and u tape everything off and dont just dive right it in on the highest setting and use a lot of pressure u should be fine. What i can gurantee is that its going to take u some time to find what works for u and whats the best way for u to move quickly and efficiently.

I'd practice on a scrap body panel or a car you don't care about. my first couple of cars weren't pretty lol. I can still remember my first buffer. the pad wasn't a loop lock just a slip on and and I used wayyy too much product. all it did was swirl up the car!

my dad has a 1992 thunderbird that just sits in the driveway and the paint is so tore up you wouldnt believe it, i just saw the how to videos on autogeek and im really leaning on buying that 7424 polisher.

depends on the condition of the paint, a pc is not going to take out super deep imperfections. there just isnt enough heat to break through enough clear with a pc, regardless if your using a very cutting pad and an aggressive compund. if you want you can pm me pics of the paint in direct sunlight and i will tell you if it is correctable or not also if you can run a fingernail over the scratch and it catches its most likely way too deep into the clear, possibly into the e-coat and a repaint is in order.
