Did anyone buy the $699 Paint Sealant Protector at the dealer?

They had it on the Vette’s in the showroom and it feels nice when you run your hand, but I don’t think that’s not something a good wax can’t do for a lot less. The only thing that may be worth it may be the interior protection from spills and stains.

Anyone buy this stuff? I forgot what it’s called but I am sure the dealer tried to sell it to you when you purchased your car.

Do you like it or is a good wax a better deal? What about the interior?

Ming shine. I prefer wax for exterior as it forces you to remember to maintain your cars looks. For the interior if you are not obsessive about no food/drink in the car at all then it is a nice addition to have.

its nice... i have it on my sti... its not going to last you 3 years though.. its its great though... it makes spills/stains bead.. instead of soak into the carpets... making it easier to clean up. but just dab at it... dont wipe at it... or it will get worse.

At my dealer they had $1295 for "Simonez Environmental Package" already on the sticker listed right before the destination charge. I didn't think anything about it, figured it was another EPA thing. Found out later it was just a wax, that didn't last more than a couple months either, by the way. A clay bar and Meguire's NXT wax did a 110% better job than what they put on. Next time I buy a car I'll pay better attention to the sticker and make sure I don't unknowingly waste my hard earned money on that crap again.

I bought it, Interior protection, undercoating and paint protection. They said that you don't really need to wax but I might just do it anyway when I get some time to do it.

cost is like 50 bucks on it youd be better off waxing it yourself..we sell the whole package but with ours you get a one day rental while your car is being undercoated...

I use Rust Check. It is a oil based undercoating that you do once a year. comes with a rust lifetime warranty. I have seen other cars done this way with Automatic transmission fluid and they were perfect, winter driven from 1965 (four door car though not worth anything to me). the oil creeps up in to unseen areas to protect areas that cannot be seen.

My grief with undercoating is that it works for a little while fairly well till it wears off, cracks, shrinks, etc. it then provides a spot for water to sit on the metal and promotes rusting. (rust holes were developed in my jeep this way and other cars I have seen it time and time again.

You could argue about it but oil wont hurt anything. you could do both?

I got the paint and interior protectant. Good thing I got it cuz I had this stain on my passenger seat and I couldn't get it out so I had them come clean it for me for FREE.

i hate ppl like this but im bored so ill respond... ok first off if you dont think i told the salsperson that then its cool no hard feelings....but im guessing thew face after whats with the green was a lame attempt to bash me, if not sry but w/e ... why green? because i like it and everyone else does blue or red. i was never offwered the interior thing, just the outside sht, and imo $600 for wax is a rip off lol... but how is it holdfing up for those who bought it......the paint on these cars suck i noticed it right away when i saw the car so i didnt see any reason to protect it like that, i just wax it myself

so let me get this straight...something that gm offers, at the dealer, to protect your paint, voids your paint warranty?

way to go gm. then you wonder why your company is going bankrupt.

Got it!

I got the whole deal for 699! Interior, exterior and underside. Winters in PA can be hell so I'm glad I got it. I've spilled stuff on the carpet and it beads up. I got the car over a month ago and the water beads on the car like the day I got it. As for the warrenty, my dealer backs up the whole package until I put 125,000 miles on the car. He says if u see any rust, acid rain, bird crap, etc... bring it right in and they'll fix it. That goes for the enterior too. I thought about it for a good while and decided to get it.

All GM dealers at least to my knowledge have to offer it and make you sign a paper stating that they offered it to you and you declined or accpeted. You could raise alot of hell if you wanted to.

I got all of it(Xilon, interior protectant, undercoat, etc...) and the tire and rim protection(same price I think) as incentives through the dealership. Worth it when its free I suppose! I'll still be waxing mine though!!
