Im looking into ordering an armrest for my base black cobalt coupe with the light gray interior. I already know the part numbers and what not, thats not the problem. All of the pics I have seen of the installs have been on SS's which all look sweet by the way, but all of their interiors are ebony. Im debating between ebony and the gray color. Im thinking of the ebony because the entire dash and center console are that color and Im thinking it will all flow. But then again my seats are the light gray color and it wouldnt go with them......So frustrating....if anyone has pics of the armrest in a lighter colored interior that would be helpful and much appreciated.....other than that comments and suggestions are welcome....I was gonna order the SOB tonite but cant decide...damnit!.....any help appreciated!!

No one has an ls or anything that has a ligther color interior with an armrest in it? Come on guys looking for a little bit of help......This is definetely my judgement call on which color to get but I was hoping for some feedback as well and maybe some visual helpers....thanks

 

Just saw your thread. The arm rest is not large enough to make it a focal point in the Cobalt so I suggest that you keep it the same color as the seats. Anything else would stick out like a sore thumb.

i have an 05 ls with the light grey seats and the light grey armrest in it, but i'm at work right now so i can't post any pics. i can get one on later today after i get home around 5pm eastern.

danklite, I was thinking the same thing when ordering my armrest. Once I came to my senses and realized anything else would look like utter crap, I decided to go with the light gray armrest for my light gray interior. It just arrived today, so I'm gonna go install it now!

I ordered from gmpartsdirect.com and it took ~3 weeks to get here... I paid some $85 for it, including shipping.

Sure thing. I just finished and it looks great. Trust me, you'll be very pleasantly surprised at how much more comfortable your ride is with the armrest.

It's a special order item, which is why it took so long, but I assume it's like that from any site.

 

Cool cool, well i just got my tint done today so I gotta save up for a bit then order the armrest....im definetely going with the gray then and man when i was driving home i sure wish i had it.....that is what is lacking in highway driving....if u get a chance it would be sweet if u could post some pics of what it looks like with it in there that would be great, if not no big deal cuz ino that im going with the gray now......thanks for the help man

Yea just to kinda see what the gray looks like in the gray interior cuz all ive seen is the armrest installed in the SS's which is all the ebony color. If you cant figure out how to post them on here you can send them to me at dank4@hotmail.com. But i think everyone has convinced me that the gray is the way to go. so if you cant get the pics up or anything not a big deal, im just appreciative of everyones input and help with this matter. thanks!

Dank, I have a 05 LS with the light grey interior. My arm rest (factory) matches my seats. I think black would really stick out.

 

Grmreaper37, hey man thanks for those pics those are great. Now in looking at the pics I notice that you have a gray console. My middle console is black. This was one of the things I was wondering about , cuz I think itll look dumb if the part of the armrest that attaches to the console is gray. I have a feeling that would look even worse than if I were to get the ebony armrest. I guess that was the real reason I was thinking of gettin that so that the color would stay the same throughout the console. I suppose another alternate approach would be to get the gray one and paint the base of it, but iono. Let me know cuz I just think that would look extremely odd with part of the console being gray with the gray armrest. Thanks again for those pics!

 

honestly i'd have to see it to be able to give an opinion, but your right, the console would probably be best if it was the same color throughout, it can be different from the seats that just adds contrast. not a bad thing but not always a good thing. but i think if the console was one color it would look better, but since i have the ebony in my truck, it's hard to say whether it'll look good or not, seats and console both match.
