Door Handles

I was recently thinking about repainting my door handles an accent color but then had some questions. Instead of painting them can I order replacements in the color I want thru GM and if so what is the part number and does anyone know what they run and then the more important question would be how to get the handles off. Any help is apprieciated. Thanks

You should be able to order them from the parts counter, or the dealer bodyshop if they have one of their own. I would venture to guess they are bolted on from the inside of the door panel, I don't think they would be riveted like the old gm style.

Just thaught of something else. What about the keyhole. I would guess that it is seperate from handle and the handle goes over top of it but not certain. Anyone know about the setup with that?

swap your old cylinder onto the new handle.

I would be interested in the cost cause my door handle rattles so much when the stereo is playing I can hear it inside the car. embarassing when cruising. people think your listening to your stereo distorting.

i agree with the just shaving them but if u dont want to do that much work you can get door handles from GM and they might even have them in stock

Well i called GM Direct this morning and they told me they sold them but that they were $51.05 + tax and shipping and that they didnt come pre painted that you would have to take them to a bodyshop to have them painted so I'm better off just having my current ones repainted.
