Double Breaklight Mod

I remember a while back seeing pictures of guys who had put led strips inside their inner breaklights and tapped them off of their breaklights and/or turn signals. I think this seemed pretty legit...What do you guys think about it? Any pictures?

I like it. In fact I plan on doing it when I buy led tails and make an led 3rd brake light.

I don't like those, they stick out too far past the trunk. Modded stock looks better.

I think it looks good as long as you make the stock lights LED also

Exactly, I like these

Use those outers, the stock inners, and tint them all to the same darkness. I hate how the reverse lights on those aftermarkets are shaped wrong.

I didn't think about putting LED's in the outer lights....How would I go about doing that...?

But then I'd have to replace the 3rd brakelight with LED's agh. Is there a certain type of light I can put in the inner brake lights so I don't have to redo the whole shabang?

Also, those inner brake lights on the eBay link don't look like they have lights

Or can you put some type of resistor on the tap to the inner LED strip on the inner brakelights to match the brightness of the stock brakes?

You can just put an led strip in the inners. If you want to do an led 3rd, get one from and impala, take the LED board out, and wire it. It won't be as far off on brightness as you think. A resistor won't work to dim them. Just do the whole conversion at once, you will be glad you did. IMO it's worth it.

This looks right, and maybe I can cut it to the right length.

What type of resistors and/or adhesive would I need

I made a plexi bracket with 7 leds space out, 3 blink for the left turn signal and 3 blink for the right while the middle stays solid.

i want to do this i have been trying to get on it.
a member on the other forum makes leds for the inners but he says he cant make them function for the brake and turn signals and u need a certain kind of led. i have the ipcw and i hate how they stick out. so i want to get those and get the inner tail mod done and get them profesionaly tinted.

Here is my post from a few years ago:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...&highlight=LED

Not really any information on the build though, I'll search for the Build thread.

Build threads are here:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/how-install-led-lights-into-your-reverse-lights-35528/

and here:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/electronics-audio-video-49/reverse-light-led-help-38367/

The last link is the one most of you are loking for.

Not for sale...Maybe the guy who made them for me will make more though. Haven't seen him on here much though.

(Although maybe its worth making some of my own? How much you want to pay for them? lol)

I just want these bad with the ebay outers i plan to buy.
Im going to get everything profesionaly tinted too so it will look sweeet
