DRL Fuse help!

I have just ordered some HID for my car both for headlights and fogs. I heard something about that you have to remove a fuse from the fuse box the DRL. Just want to verify if thats correct. Thanks for your help.

Yeah you do. If you don't remove it, then your HIDs will be on and it could ruin them. DRL are actually your Hi-beams, but at a lower wattage. Doing this with an HID kit could screw your HID kit up. It's really easy to pull out too!

Also, by doing this, your AUTO lights will still work...so as soon as it's dark enough, your headlights will come on.

Look in your manual index under fuse or DRL...it'll give you a page where it shows your fuse box and all the names of the fuses. You can't miss it. The fuse has a number 10 on it (other fuses have 10 as well...so keep an eye out). But yeah, there is a diagram in your manual that pin points it for you.

Let me know if you find it. If not, I'll take a quick picture of where it is.

I've had my HIDs for almost a year now and I keep forgetting to pull the DRL fuse. So far no probs, I always seem to remember when I'm driving the car and the lights flick back and froth from auto to drl, and forget by the time I'm out of the car.

Guys......look under the lid of the fuse box under your hood. There is a diagram on the inside of it telling you what all the fuses are.

The DRL fuse is in the middle somewhere. It is 10A RED colored fuse.

wiring changes rather often (more often than you would think it should)

it may not be labeled DRL on your year, many fuses are for more than one item
