E-brake Handles

So I've searched the forums on here and cant find any recent info on replacement aftermarket e-brake handles that will actually fit. I know the Momo Pitstop one was the go to for most people but with it being discontinued and costing $100 on Ebay, I was hoping to find something else that will work.

I dont have to have you guys search for me, but if yall know of any other handles that fit off the top of your head, I'd really appreciate the info.

Okay so I think I may have found some parts to try. Andys Auto Sport sells a Spec-D Tuning universal e-brake handle for like $20. Also if Im not mistaken, I read somewhere that someone used the e-brake boot from a Z3 on a Cobalt, and I can find those for like $16.

Can anyone confirm the boot thing cause now I cant seem to find the post where I read that at.

ive tried the spec-d on mine and noticed that it wont slide on the whole way so i got some sand paper and tried to sand down some of the plastic blocking it to slide and it took forever and needless to say it didnt work at all. the e-brake handle is really short i noticed to the aftermarket lenghts of the others. oh and once i got mine on it wouldnt secure itself so hope this helps out somehow lol

Thanks for that heads up. Would have really sucked to buy it and find out it doesnt work. If I had an auto parts store around that stocked them it wouldn't be such a big deal because if it didn't fit I could always return in, but having to buy online makes that a bit more difficult.

I've looked at several different handles and I pulled my brick off yesterday to get an idea of what's gonna be needed to change it out. It's just crazy that there aren't more options because mine really doesn't look that "fat" in diameter.

I'll post a picture of mine here in a little bit to see if it's the same between all year models or what.

Homemade handle out of some electrical conduit I had laying around. Still needs the end cap welded on and polished, but it works for now..

and I made the boot out of some imitation suede from JoAnn fabrics..

All together I think I have around $20 or so invested...

Check out richbrook e brake handles. I was looking at them before I scored my momo on eBay and at least one of them is the same ID as the momos

Ok. So this is taking a drastic turn and delving into mad scientist type work now.

Some nice suede leather.

Cheap shift boot

Foam pipe insulation.

This will either be a terrific success or a dismal failure. Stay tuned!

Yeah. The pipe insulator goes from the boot to the button and is wrapped in the suede. I got the suede at Hobby Lobby. For an 8x11" piece was $4.50.

I won't call it a home run by any means, but for under $20 I'm happy for now.

I agree. Thats why I sad Im happy for now. The foam ended up being quite a bit too thick. It sure is comfy though. Haha.

Honestly, after seeing the one made with electrical conduit, and seeing how mine came out, if I can lay my hands on a small welder, I may end up trying something of a hybrid between the two. I mean I like the feel of the suede, but I like the size of that conduit. But I did find that the diameter or the e-brake assembly is somewhere around 1-1/8".

Im also going to continue trying to track down a Z3 boot cause that will probably fit better.

Thanks man. Im gonna see about pvc maybe. It should be quite a bit thinner then the foam.

What about instead of using something to slip over the ebrake handle, I just wrapped the metal piece in suede? That would leave it being nice and thin and I wouldn't have to worry about having set screws or an end cap and it would be better feeling in the hand then just bare metal. Hmmmm.

Ok so I tried just covering the stock part under the plastic brick. I like that a lot better!!
