Engine Wiring
Engine Wiring
Hey guys, quick question. I was looking into my engine bay, enjoying the new lack of plastic
when I noticed that the engine wiring is covered in ribbed black plastic tubing. My question is, has anyone replaced this tubing with something that looks better? Thanks.

If you want to use the colored wiring loom, remember to keep it away from the exhaust side of the engine (the other side is probably OK however). I've seen too many cars with melted or sagging wiring loom.
The black stuff that came with our cars is much more heat-resistant.

Sure you could get it at the dealer but its probably all black.
It wouldn't hurt to try the colored stuff; just check it regularly and get rid of it if its getting all soft and melty.

Don't remember any masking tape, but I do have a couple parts with stickers on them - bar code stickers - and they have gotten wet and look bad. They look worse than the black wiring loom in my opinion.
