Here are some updated pics and info. The car is all put back together minus the side skirt. I worked on the car for 6 hrs last night and an additional 5 today. We ran out of paint after the bumpers and had to order paint for the skirts. They were primed and painted today and will be installed on Monday. The car will have to go back in after I am done showing it for a couple weeks to have some additional work. This work includes fitment of the front bumper, fog light installation, grilles, jam paint, and everything rubbed down. With that being said here is how the car stands now. There is very limited space under the front bumper; we measured close to 3.5". I may reinstall the stock springs to gain a couple more inches of clearance. The rear lights need to be retinted and interior needs to be touched up as well.

In the shop. The green line is painters tape and is what the guys at the shop think i should do instead of a silver/gray pinstripe

I will try and post pics Monday night after the skirts are installed but it may be to dark for pics. We will just have to wait and see. Let me know what you think of her so far.

I agree but GM doesn't offer the purchase of just the black mirror covers. You have to buy the SS power mirrors. The other option would be to paint them myself but not really sure how well they would turn out. I could also just put back the stock flat black ones. I am thinking of possibly getting the CF covers to match the hood in the future

The front bumper/lip along with the grille, emblem, & fogs were traded for the kit. The skirts were damaged and sold. The rear may have been damaged as well and was also sold

I agree but they are the size I needed for my 18" rims to keep the speedo calibration correct. I could have it reprogrammed but I am not ready for a tune yet.

The rear bumper and the skirts are N1 style. The front bumper is either the Zen or BC2 depending on manufacture. I am not sure what company manufactured these as I did not buy them directly. The skirts and rear bumper came with a drifter 2 front bumper from when I traded a member my complete front end for a kit. The front bumper came from another member who got it from someone else that offered her it as a combo deal with a hood.

The front bumper has many problems. There is hardly any glass in it. Its mostly resin and gel coat. The driver side matches pretty well but the grille area and the passenger side are no where close. The body shop has done what they could for now and will be doing more at a later date. The

The rear bumper was perfect except for the width. It had to be cut in 1/2 and about 1/2" of glass was added to widen it to fit. Otherwise it was way to tight to fit correctly. The skirts also fit well but they are a little wavy in area.

The car was dropped off at the shop this morning to have the skirts installed. I will try and post new pics tonight to show it completely assembled.

came out good man. 6 months though.... thats a bit rough. Take the mirror covers off and have him paint him. after all the money you spent there i cant see him charging you much. **** if you spent that much with me and your car was at my shop that long, id spray that **** for free. The cover pops right off the mirror and he just needs to wetsand it and spray it. would take him all but an hour of his time

Paint and body looks pretty good. But those wheels and tires and stance are terrible. They take away SO much from what could be a really nice looking car. Im not trying to be a dick, but i think if you traded those wheels and got some new wheels and some meatier tires itll look much nicer. Dont be afraid of some sidewall. Itll look agressive

The rims actually have some additional black spokes that you can not make out in the pics very well. They are on either side of the brushed aluminum ones. IMO I love the rims but do agree that the tires need more of a sidewall.

The only reason I have them these are because I have 18" rims and these were the closest thing to the overall stock dimensions so my speedometer would remain correct. I know I can have it reprogrammed but at this time I am not ready to have a tune. The tires are almost brand new so I wont be needing new ones for awhile.

Not really sure what you mean by stance. The car has been lowered with new springs to have an even stance. The rear end may look a little higher due to the design of the kit. I am however considering putting the stock springs back in just for clearance purposes until I get air ride.

i dunno man. Body looks good, but your reasoning on the rims etc. is just out there for me. If you spent that much money and waited that long to get your car looking right, id just go ahead and slam it low on some H&R's, put a nice set of 235/40/18 tires on it, and call it a day. I wouldnt give 2 ***** about my speedo. The rims themselves arent that bad, its just the tires they sit on and the huge fender gaps that make ur car look awkward to look at. Maybe ur used to it so you dont see it, but if i had photoshop still Id show you just how much better it would look. Look at Rissa's car, look at how low her car sits on H&R's. You can bag it, but I think H&R is perfect stance for what your going for, will be a nice clean show look. But if your gonna spend that much money and get a body kit and then be afraid to go low b/c it will scrape, then you spent $ to make ur car "look better", then your putting stock springs on it to "save" it and therefore making it now look Worse. Just slam it low and learn how to drive a lowered car and take parking lots. Twisted DD's his car. Look at his stance and bodykit. Just learn how to drive it

IMO.

then theres the other side of the argument that is, if you happy with it, its your car, do what you wanna do. Id just like you to go the extra mile since ur car is orange and im racist

I do agree that Rissa's car looks good. I am not sold that H&Rs are the answer for me. Their car has the SS kit. My body kit hangs at least 2" lower than that. I currently have CA#1 springs that are equivalent to Eibach sportlines. The difference between H&r and those is not much. I also agree that bigger sidewall tires are a must. Not only esthetically (decrease gaps), but for ride as well. I plan to get some when my current ones are toast. This wont be for a while tho. My car currently sits about 3.5" inches off the ground. I know and have been a lot more cautious driving. The biggest problem I face is Michigan has the worst roads in the country. Raising the car up minor amounts with different springs and tires is a temporary fix at best. A couple inches is not going to make a big difference is this situation . Better driving is not always the solution either. There is always going to be a time when you come upon something you can not clear (bump, tracks, driveway etc) The best solution IMO is to go air. This will allow for easy ride height control at a touch of a button.
