Fog light upgrades

Ive been looking at the blazer fog light projectors on the retrofit source web site. Has anyone replaced there fogs with these? If so was it a direct fit? I called and they have gm part # and come upgraded with glass lens so they won't get all dull that's why I need new ones but they 45.00 for a set... Really cheap I think

dude. blazer fogs are such a disappointment!!!

They were highly anticipated at TRS, had beautiful output, color and cutoff! They demo'd them, and everything looked great.

Then people bought them. Ran HID's in them and nearly every single person with HID's melted the lights in a day or two.

They cannot handle the heat of hids at all!!!! this is not like people saying minih1's cant handle 55w hids or something, you litterally cannot have hids in these or they will melt.

But i bet some silverstar halogens in blazers are brighter than hids in factory ss fogs, i dont get why they suck so bad!

not a direct replacement, would take some custom fitment/brackets. If you look at pics of the fog light housing and compare them to the blazer you'd see the big design difference. I would work on trying to mod the stock fogs. Make custom cutoff shields out of aluminum flashing and play around with bulb and shield spacing to try to get a blue cutoff if that's what you're going for. Stock fogs are not designed to handle the output of hids, so the optics for them are all wrong.

stock lens is glass. They're gonna get beat up due to rocks and suck. You could always sand the lenses and clear coat them, though fog lights aren't actually supposed to help you see better, they're pretty much just for show. They'll help in actual fog but not a whole lot.

yes leds aren't even close to as bright as a halogen bulb. At the moment there is no plug and play led bulb as bright as a halogen bulb. You should be happy with the yellow, they'll be pretty good in fog and rain. If you sand the lenses, be sure to clear them or it'll be even worse. Alternatively, measure the width and height of the lenses and see if you can find a suitable replacement. You could also find a set of fogs from another GM vehicle in a junk yard, they all use the same projector fogs as far as I've ever seen.
